Ok, I realise this was written 12 years ago, but I feel the need to comment anyway!

I LOOOOOOOOOOVED IT! It had everything I was searching for in a deathshipping fic! The plot rolled along nicely, the characters fit with the manga/anime version, I was captivated, it took place in Ancient Egypt (those fics are hard to find!) and I almost cried at the end! Almost.

I was so sure they were going to get away and then they both die! But it's ok! It was really well done! Plus I can't complain, there's a sequel! XD

A very good story. It's hard to find such rarer pairings such as deathshipping among others.

I was slightly hesitant to read on when you added Bakura and Malik as a couple, not being a fan of them together and it not added on the list of pairings - but I continued to read on. Again, I ran into another pairing I am not highly fond of, Seth with Yami - unless Yami is properly written which I see as an extremely strong character. Despite this I continued reading and really enjoyed the story.

I had a feeling Ryou was going to (spoiler to anyone reading reviews - skip this part of my writing) die but because I saw you mention the future I didn't cry as hard as I usually would over a character death and it made me again enjoy the story more.

Thank you for the lovely and interesting story and its sad to see you no longer write for the yugioh fandom but I enjoyed this story anyway.

Wowww, your fic was amazing, I loved the story, and was better than I suspected, you see, I was searching about Marik/Ryou fanfics, but I wasn't sure about what I can found, and now I see that they are a good couple, romantic in their way.

I know your fic is a little old, but I like to review my favorite fics.

I happy for the respect of the plot-line, no many fics respect it, and for me the best fics respect the anime references, and I know that they required more effort.

Shippings are pairings between characters. The Yu-gi-oh fandom has pet names for these pairings, named so they can be told apart. There are hundreds of these pairings. Tendershipping and Puzzleshipping are two of the most common -Tender RyouXYamiBakura, Puzzle YugiXYamiYuugi. As you can see, most pairings are nicknamed according to the induviduals. "Puzzle"shipping because Yuugi and Yami hold the puzzle. Tendershipping is named for Ryou's tender nature I think. ; The pairing in your fic is Deathshipping...RyouXYamiMarik. So named because Ryou would most likely die if he got involved with the other. :P (Or delicious Yaoi would ensue. ;) )

Ryou frowned. "Oh... I'm sorry. I suppose I should've been thankful to you for at least coming here to find me... even though it was YOU who got me here in the first place."

Ryou would NOT have reacted that way, I don't think. You don't instantly forgive someone for slapping you.

"There was something about Ryou that allured him and made him want to pounce on him every second." O.O Um...was that copied (or inspired) by Never Knew?
