According to the notes, the potion could send a person to a place where they would be free from all the dangers that plagued them in this world.

Did he change the potion, or take a portion for himself? Lucius is not dense.
She also knew what game Malfoy was playing. Voldemort had no doubt sent him to take her alive but Malfoy needed only one excuse to kill her.
Death Eaters and Voldemort are not the whole world, and Hermione is not defeated yet. Is Lucius as arrogant as Hermione thinks him to be?
Lucius is also drenched in the potion. Will he follow her, or travel to another place and time?

In one world, Severus Snape and Albus are dead. In another, Hermione Granger and Voldemort are dead.
I remember another book likes this, where Severus has lost Joshua, and Harry-James has lost Isaac, and still both of them survived deaths of their loved ones - to meet each other later. Only, in this case, the problem is much more difficult, because Hermione didn't have time to heal after Severus's death, to accept it; but if she is desperate enough to confuse the two Potions Masters of different universes, Severus's animosity will quickly return her to reality; and Severus still bottles up pain and guilt over Hermione's death, which might be part of the reasons to attack 'the impostor', instead of considering the possibility of her telling the truth.
By that theory, it didn't matter how she lived her life, she was fated to live one path or another. If there was one thing that Hermione didn't want to accept it was that life was dictated by outside influence.
It isn't. The list of paths is infinite, and not restricted by anybody or anything, except, possibly, laws of nature. Your own thought and will dictate which path you take, so your mind is your only limit.
Looking down at the platinum band on her finger, she felt more alone than she ever had. She knew that she couldn't tell anyone of her marriage. Especially not Sev- Snape.

I hope that Draco will talk some sense into his godfather, and Severus Snape will confront himself about his feelings towards Hermione.
Imagining Draco Malfoy as a good guy was certainly going to be a challenge, but imagining Draco Malfoy as friends with Harry, of all people, was going to be neigh unto impossible.
Was Draco the one to warn the Order about the attack?

She could deal with suspicious, bastard Snape. But a Snape that was pleasant (as pleasant as that man could be, at any rate)? That worried Hermione to no end.

So far, Snape's antagonism was the only thing that had kept Hermione from crawling into his arms and never leaving. How in the world could she deal with a nice Snape and retain her dignity?

The twinkle returned to his eye as he noted the twin glares from the two people in front of him. Albus was suddenly struck by a realization of how compatible these two people really were.

Ever since their visit to the Department of Reality, she had seemed to be under more stress than ever. This surprised Albus; he had thought she had settling in well after New Year's.
They told her she is their only chance to return a man home.
In truth, Severus himself, although loath to admit, wouldn't have attempted such a feat unaided.

Hermione looked at Snape with wide eyes. He raised his eyebrow, amused by her indecision. She sighed. "I meant that it wouldn't be necessary because… well, because it was you who assisted me."
Amused.
He glared at her, and then grabbed her arm roughly. "The headmaster will need to be informed immediately, and I think you are just the person to tell him what you have done."
She hadn't done it on purpose.
"He was when he was younger," she said, "but the headmaster thought the risk would be too great for him to resume his spying activities when the Dark Lord arose in my fourth year."
Ah, I see...
"I swear to you, Mione, I won't let them near you."
Ron, Hermione can protect herself.

I usually tend to avoid Severus/Hermione stories as they tend to be both boring and unoriginal. You, however, have managed to weave an amazing story that has both plot and relationship development. There are very few errors both grammar and spelling-wise, which are very distracting. All in all, this is an absolutely brilliant story.
