Reviews for Ghosts in this House
BarretM82A1 chapter 1 . 3/11/2001
Excellent work in my opinon. Full of comprehensive detail yet strangely surreal at the same time. Vague at some points but still managing to convey the feel of the characters and their environment. An enjoyable read and my pleasure to review. Keep up the good work.

Crystal chapter 1 . 2/27/2001
Wow... really interesting and thought provoking. I definately liked this one.
BenRG chapter 1 . 2/26/2001
Hmm... I like it. I like it a lot. Generally I hate Batman Beyond, but this little peek into Bruce's demons in his last years was facinating. BenRG's Rating 8/10
Grey Bard chapter 1 . 2/13/2001
Not entirely sure I understood it, but I liked it. I should've known Alfred and Selina were too stubborn to leave entirely.
sixbeforelunch chapter 1 . 2/12/2001
See, this is why you're on my author alert. I don't like ghost stories and I'm not crazy about Batman Beyond (both for my own reasons which aren't relevant here), but even though I knew right off it was a ghost story and BB, I decdided to give it a chance-you've never disapointed me before. And you didn't dissapoint me this time. This is one of the creepiest, most gothic, most insightfull stories I've ever read. It took me a minute to fully understand it, but once I did...WOW. This is a powerful story. I liked the symbolism and the idea of Bruce, even after all these years, not knowing exactly who he is. Nice job.
chris dee chapter 1 . 2/12/2001
Weird? Not in a bad way, not at all. Your opening could be right out of Rebecca or Wuthering Heights, Pure Gothic. And you carry that through the following paragraphs with the macabre happenings and the religious/moral overtones which are both tre gothic.

It's because this is a superior piece of writing, I'm going to go on to point out some areas of opportunity to improve this story, perhaps in a rewrite or perhaps in a sequel, to bring the core idea up to the level of the narrative technique. - The key lies in the Our Father, "as we forgive those who trespass against us"

Forgiveness is a basic tenet of Christianity. Batman is about vengeance. To redeem Bruce in the scenario you've set up, he has to renounce Batman (as Terry puts forth) which is also renouncing Batman's Quest (as Catwoman puts forth). So you see, it's a very complex allegory you've set up in this "simple little ghost story". If you're open to exploring it further, I think you have the makings of a phenomenal piece of fiction.
Tracey Claybon chapter 1 . 2/11/2001
This was chilling - but COOL. Great job, and the atmosphere was PERFECT.

Firebird chapter 1 . 2/11/2001
Ooh, interesting... May I archive this?
Peggie chapter 1 . 2/11/2001
It took a couple of times reading before I got it, (put it down to me being slow!) but once I understood this made me cry. I love the fact that Alfred is still looking out for Bruce, even from the grave, and using Terry to do it is a nice touch. Like you I am not keen on Batman Beyond, I always find it too dark without the human element that Alfred always bring to the Batman stories. Maybe I am just sentimental. Thank you for a great story as always, I will bank it with my favourites. I look forward to the author alert informing me of your next one (I hope it's one about the usual Bat Clan.) Love Peggie.
