Guest chapter 6 . 12/21/2016 You write so well; this could've been a slice of the actual novel. So sad it's been left abandoned :( |

Serena2718 chapter 1 . 2/28/2013 Hi. OMG I love you fic. I'm terrible sad that there is no more chapters. It is a great idea Mr. Knightley is so wounderful that it is rare that any other girl will be in love of him and also he was young and could fall in love with someone else until he realize where his hard is. Do you have moe chapter? Do you will continue with this amazing fic? |
mamabear86 chapter 6 . 12/4/2012 I'm thoroughly enjoying this! Please please pretty please come back and update :) With a cherry on top! |
Murphy AT chapter 6 . 6/21/2012 I must admit, when I first chanced on this story, I thought 'there can hardly be that much of the couple I love, but it should be an interesting read at least'. How wrong I was! This story is infinitely more exciting and intriguing than many stories of their older counterparts. Not only do you keep it in the spirit of the times, book, and characters, but you change them slightly to show how they must have been seven years prior to the book. Miss Bates and Mr. Woodhouse are quite the same, and it is interesting to see how the relationship with Emma and Miss Taylor was. But my absolute favorite part of it is how you show their (they being Emma and Knightley, of course) obvious regard for each other, even then. And how natural Emma's feelings, and subsequent denial of them, are! But I adore a jealous Knightley, and you've played it very well- it is so in character and well written that I am inclined to praise you as a mini-Austen. Please do write more! |
iambbq chapter 6 . 2/17/2011 Thank you for six chapters of wonderfulness! I really enjoyed your portrayal of Emma and Mr. Knightley. The clever, quick-witted, high-spirited, all caring for her 'friend', misunderstanding pretty much everything, not knowing half her own heart Emma was beyond endearing! The fact that she was so ignorant of the reason for her jealousy was very in canon, and certainly sets the stage for the discovery of her love for Mr. Knightley. And I loved to think that she had been in love with him just as long (or almost as long) as he had been in love with her – the same kind of innocent love that they shared as long as they had been friends! I loved your Mr. Knightley so much... a man caught between hope and hopelessness! Watching the girl he guided through her tender years grew into the verge of womanhood must have been a shock and put him to question his own heart. His awakening of his feelings for her was very natural, but I imagine excruciating - Knowing that she still had to grow up and her feelings for him might only be of a brother or a father and never material into anything more! I'm glad Emma made it clear to him that he was a FRIEND, not a father nor a brother - the hope that came from this declaration must have sustained him for another six years before he could wait no longer! And finally the appearance of Frank Churchill was the breaking point that led to his complete confession! [Sigh!] I know I am probably asking this in vain... but if you're still reading the reviews, please consider the PLEADS from your readers (me, definitely included!) to continue this most lovely story... however long it has been! Thank you so much for sharing your talents! :) |
iambbq chapter 2 . 2/17/2011 I know you have not updated this story for more than six years, and heaven knows if you are still reading the reviews, but I MUST tell you how wonderful this story is! Your writing is impressive, the characterization is so canon-like, even though it's not set in the time of the novel, I never doubted for a second that Emma and Mr. Knightley in this story were not the same characters in the novel! I loved the heated argument between Emma and Mr. Knightley in the garden regarding Miss Purkey - it was perfectly Emma to be speaking her mind and having such low opinion over the woman. I loved the way you portrayed Mr. Knightley so far... his feelings for Emma came through so clearly without having it written out at all. I was just thinking about how he said that he was in love with her since she was thirteen... I did not think it was possible for an almost thirty year old man to be in love with a thirteen year old girl, I still don't believe he was physically 'in love' with her, not in a way of a man to a woman, but in your story she was almost fifteen, and it was very plausible that his affection for her was shifting from being someone who had always impressed with her cleverness and wit and competence, to someone who also admired her 'other' qualities. After all, Emma and Mr. Knightley's romance is the best kind of romance ever existed - it stemmed from their life-long friendship. So I can clearly see how his youthful affection for Miss Purkey had faded now that he had tasted his incomparable friendship with the yet still growing-up Emma. Sorry for such a long review, but your story is such a gem that I REALLY want to let you know! |
Wanabee chapter 6 . 8/14/2010 I have just found this story and already I'm obsessed. I notice you haven't updated in a while but I'm hoping that something will change continue, I don't think I could stand not knowing how it ends. Truly amazing. |
Bearkitten Sundeen chapter 6 . 3/11/2010 It is a good story. I guess my only concern is that men and women would not correspond w/o there being an engagement. Mr. Knightley could not write to Emma (who he has known her whole life), when in London b/c of this convention. |
Kronoskingofthemonkeypeople chapter 6 . 2/23/2010 Ok, so I know that it's been five years since you last updated this story, and that this review will probably never see the light of day but seriously - YOU GOT TO UPDATE THIS STORY! Really is the best Emma fanfic I have ever read. Hands down. You write so brilliantly, it is almost like reading Austen herself. You haven't secretly stolen Austen's lost drafts of "Emma" have you? Hmm... I'm on to you! So I guess all there is to say is UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE! |
benavidas chapter 6 . 5/15/2009 There are so few Emma stories around and even fewer that take place before the end of the novel, and even-even fewer that are any good. And this is EXCELLENT! I mean seriously, I've just been on a campaign to read every decent Emma fic there is, and this is one of the best! What a great voice you have for the period! And everything in character: a precocious, self-possessed young Emma, a stern, ironic Knightley apparently struggling with his attraction for her. Love the hints of tension between them. I know it's been years but please give a thought to updating this. It's really a great story. |
Romanticize chapter 6 . 4/24/2009 I know that this story will most likely not get updated, but I just wanted to say the 6 chapters that you did post where extremely enjoyable to read. It was like reading one of those Jane Austen books people write in their point of view of the story. |
Leslie chapter 6 . 2/16/2009 I always loved Emma and there is not enough fanfiction about this story. You should continue it!Please please please please please? I love this story, so will you update soon? |
