It was an interesting story but of course not Canon compliant..

You have such a beautiful voice. I nearly cried reading that. It was truly touching and so very, achingly sad. Not only did you manage to write the characters true to themselves, they were convincingly projected into a future that, for all intents and purposes, should be happy but is terribly bleak and depressing for Sam.

I was especially touched by Jack's clone saying:

"I had to take test after stupid test just to get them to let me come home."

That really hit me, how much the SGC was a home for SG-1, and how much they were a family.

I've watched Stargate only a handful of times and I don't even know why I started to read a fic of something I hardly know, but I was utterly blown away. The emotions, the easy way with which you describe it with such intense force, but without making it melodramatic, it was amazing. Absolutely amazing. Such a strong ending too, everything about it was just fabulous, your writing style, the story-line, everything works. You really did a marvelous job with this,

This? Absolutely slaughtered me. It's fantastic, even if it is absolutely gut-wrenching. The first half would have been great all by itself, but with the end, well ... the sucker-punch is not just for Sam, but also because she's really not the one who has to bear the burden of being the last one left. That's art.

Also, I really like your Hailey as growing into some odd blend of Sam and Jack. Love the sort of symbiotic relationship you've shown with Hailey and Sam here.

Couldn't you at least have also told us what happened to Jack and Teal'c? Good story, though. That was quite a twist to put on the end, having Jon show up like that.

I find the projection of these characters' futures to be intriguing; the characterization is solid in a very satisfying way. What I find difficult to reconcile is the time frame of the two scenes. I don't see the decimation of SG-1, including Daniel's death by disease instead of violence, to be compatible with Jack's clone's being a Lieutenant. That process wouldn't take more than a decade. I also think it would take more time than that for Hailey's rough edges to be smoothed over.

I'm glad your friend convinced you to publish your stories; I've consistently enjoyed them.

You just have a thing for making me cry. This is the third of your stories that has reduced me into a pile of blithering sobs. It was so cruel to bring Jack back in. I loved that you didn't go into detail about what happened to each member. It made it all the more sorrowful. Simple Beautiful.

Wow! almost forgot about "Asgard Jack". thats gotta be really freaky to know someone you loved is dead and then his clone shows up and basically picks up where he left off. Great story hope i can do as well in the future when i get around to my own.
