Well done for finishing this. This is a very satisfying ending, and doesn't feel at all rushed or abrupt. I'm not generally a big fan of romance or of this pairing (and I hope that doesn't feel like a backhanded compliment because it's really not intended as such) but you really have managed to work it into the narrative in a way which was very touching and meaningful, and I think it was necessary to lift the story beyond bleakness (though you do bleakness so fantastically well). I intend to go back and read it all again from the start all the way through, and will probably comment again in more detail when I have done so, but for the time being - thank you, I have been enjoying this story for a long time, and I'm sorry that you ended it with your personal circumstances as they are. I hope things improve for you.

This is an excellent ending. I do hope you do manage to do a follow up but I understand it is not possible at this moment.

My dear, I have loved reading this story for a very long time - and I am totally neglectful for not saying how inspiring it has been to read of two 'human beings' - against the odds and fate - surviving to be with their shipmates (and together) again.

You are an excellent writer - please, write of their future lives - be they, good, bad, challenging, stressful perhaps, but ultimately good . . .

This has been a wonderful story. I'm glad we did not have to endure a character death. Those are always difficult.

A message to the author, depression is always sucky. When it comes from outside, it makes it hard. I am not a mental health professional, just a fellow sufferer. I have had three strokes, I do not have physical defects, but I do have mental defects. This past year, I crashed my car and totaled it. We were victims of a burglary at Christmas, almost $40,000 worth of stuff was stolen. And then I was a victim of identity theft-mostly that was getting new credit cards and wondering which one they had convinced my creditor to cancel that week.

Anyway, it is not your story. But, please, nothing is worth hurting your self over. Remember your family, and remember your readers!

That really was a very satisfying ending. I'm not saying I'd turn my nose up at a sequel if you ever feel like writing one (and I sincerely hope your personal life is sorted out sooner rather than later), but this ending works very well. Thank you!

Well I think that was a decent ending to a good story.

OMG please update soon. There are only so many times I can reread the same chapter. This has been such a well written and tactfully dark piece that I'd hate for it to be incomplete! Now please post that next wonderful chapter before I get too desperate :)

I started reading this a couple of days ago and I could not put it down. It is totally awesome, I was near tears reading chapter 27, I think this could have been so horribly painful to read (and it someways it was) but there was the light of the bond between Hoshi and Malcolm shining through it. I'm also seriously impressed with the way most of it is speech wrote as well, that sounds quite difficult to do.
I hope to see a conclusion to this story, Malcolm and Hoshi have so much healing to do.

Holy crap. That was a brutal read. I was glued to the story, although the disclaimer about the torture doesn't really do it justice.

Still, overall it was a very entrapping story.
