Awesome fic! I love the slow built up of their relationship. I really liked how Heero was an artist, and how he drew Duo the picture of his family. The ending was so sad, I was nearly in tears. I hope you haven't given up on a sequel (even though its been years since you completed this fic)! I'd love to see more of this story, but with or without a sequel this was awesome! :D

Wow. I think I just found a new addition to my list of favorite authors. I found you through a long, complicated series of recs and started with this- and it’s amazing. I have a policy of not reading incomplete work- I just hate having to wait- but for your stuff I may have to make an exception, because it looks like you have a few. I love your concept here of showing the naïve Earth-born what life in the colonies is really like, and the way Quatre and Trowa are so cute- I especially adore your Trowa because he actually talks and makes jokes, which is NOT the case in the majority of GW fanfiction I’ve read. You’ve made him a real character, even if not truly a main one, and I love it. I also really liked the flashes of Duo, like when he comments about Nataku that some things are off-limits, that aren’t about either ‘his people,’ because that’s what he’s really about in this story, or about his tragic past- not that those aren’t important and well done, I just like seeing yet another aspect of the character. I also like that you don’t demonize either Treize or Zechs, and your idea for the origins and the dynamics of their relationship was new to me, and kind of interesting. And Heero’s jealousy over Duo and Zechs flirting- so cute! Also – plastic – what a great way to describe it. The word perfectly conveys a sense of fake-ness, a dog-and-pony show instead of the real deal. Hmm, what else… I loved the “oops” moment when Duo rushes into the motel room with Relena and starts planning and Heero’s like, “what are you doing with Relena and knowing this stuff and making plans?” To me it shows that unconsciously Duo’s decided to trust the people in that room at least somewhat, so he forgets that he hasn’t let them in on his identity yet. Do you plan to write the second half of this after all? I’d love to read it. In conclusion of this ridiculously long paragraph: loved it, thank you for the story, and I hope you keep writing! ~berneynator
