Reviews for Family Affairs
Sophia the Scribe chapter 17 . 5/8/2016
Great story! I love the characterizations of Tim and his family. Any hope of it ever being continued? Blessings, Sophia
earendel chapter 17 . 7/29/2014
Will this story ever be finished?
S.T chapter 9 . 8/8/2013
I realize you haven't written on this one for years, but I just have to say, I like your storyline a hell of a lot more than what DC's been doing with Tim. Frankly, I wish you were writing him. Ever thought of applying?

This is awesome, truely. I'm not a real fan of the pairing, but I love reading the interactions between Tim and Danna and Jack!
deafening-silence-215 chapter 17 . 1/16/2011
Man, i hope you are at least considering updating this beautifully written story. i love it so much and it deserves to be finished.
En Satsu Koku Ryuu Ha chapter 17 . 11/30/2010
When I had started reading this, I knew it wasn't complete. But it had been recommended, so I decided to anyway.

The characterization had been great. You wrote Tim wonderfully, capturing his normal-softer personality, and also captured his strength and charisma as Robin. All the other characters were written greatly as well.

I came in with little knowledge of Young Justice, I've read Teen Titans and Robin, so it was mostly Harm and Greta that were new to me. You explained the characters very well. I feel I have a better understanding of them now than I would reading the comics. I'll soon see to that, too.

As I said, I started reading this knowing it wasn't likely to be completed. I'm happy I did, it was an amazingly told story. It only further frustrated me on how Tim's parents had been treated in the comics; I saw it as a cop-out, simply an easier way to not have constantly write him sneaking around. Enough of that, though.

There is nothing that I didn't like in this. Beautifully detailed and planned. The characters stayed true to their comic-selves and really came alive in your story. Whether more is added or not, it was a joy to read.

Thank you for the time, effort, and energy you put in writing all 180 thousand words of "Family Affairs." It shows, and is very much appreciated.

Lastly, I'll probably send you a message via system. I doubt you still read reviews on an older fic like this, but I'd like to ask for a note of finality on the life of this fic. I assume it's dead, but I'd like to know for certain.

Thank you. :)

Wow. This is a really good story. Is it insane of me to be asking you to update it? I want to see how it all turns out.

Spiderbob chapter 17 . 5/20/2009
Wow. I just finished reading the entirety of your story (took a few days due to work, but regardless). Simply amazing. You've nailed all of the quirks and characteristics of every character in your story, and though the story circles mostly around Robin and Greta (no complaint there, Tim Drake is one of my favorite DC characters, probably second to Batman; and you right a good Greta), you given ample time to all the other characters as well, allowing us to view their own developments. True, some have yet to be given a closer look, but from the tone of your story, round two hasn't even really begun, so I'm sure they'll be plenty of time to delve into their personal stories.

You've managed to set and maintain the tones of seriousness and gravity of the situations, while giving brief glimpses of happiness and humor. You've shown yourself to possess near perfect control and written expression of the relationships between the characters and their reactions and behaviors to the circumstances they find themselves in.

Your story is rich in detail and yet full of subtleties, and provides enough diverse adjectives to keep the reader entrhalled for the long yet incredibly enjoyabe ride.

My point that I'm trying to make through my rambling is that you have a great talent for writing, and you've created and kept up a truly amazing read, and I encourage you to continue to do so, as I know you've got a hooked fan, and one who's eagerly looking forward to your next update.

Wow. So far it's a great story. Enjoying the Tim/Greta relationship, as so few of those stories are out there. Hope you continue writing.
cm27815 chapter 17 . 12/14/2008
This story is easily one of the best I've ever read. You're one of the only authors that writes Tim/Greta at all, much less makes it work so well. I really hope you keep this going; every time I read it I'm on the edge of my seat.
J.C chapter 17 . 12/9/2007
So, when do you take over the storyline for the Teen Titans Comic? Please say today.
batfan7 chapter 17 . 11/20/2007
Ooh! Neat story! Nice and complicated plot with heroes who aren't perfect - I'm glad I found it. I like how you've set up the whole thing - right now the heroes are a bit behind the bad-guy, but they're catching up and I have no doubt they'll start planning ahead of him soon... just as long as the whole 'know the future before it happens' thing doesn't get in the way. Now that they know how Harm got past all the security, hopefully they can plan on it and make sure it doesn't happen again. After all the running-scared stuff, it'd be nice to see them win one. And it sounds like the next battle will be in Gotham - that'd be the perfect place for Robin and crew to foil the Scarecrow's plans since Harm went and desecrated the Batcave.

The relationships are interesting as well. I haven't read too many stories where Greta and Robin are together, but you've made them a realistic couple. The only minor quibble I have is Jack, Tim's dad. He seems a bit one-dimentional. He's stubbonly 'not getting it', which honestly seems a bit much. I can understand that the whole superhero world is far beyond his normal life, but I kind of feel that after being confronted with so much that he shouldn't get so extremely...confrontational/problematic, you know? You could still have him have issues with Tim, but it seems he should be a bit less antagonistic toward /everything/. Anyway, it's your story, so obviously you can do whatever you want. I'm certainly enjoying it!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving (assuming you're American)
Het Up chapter 6 . 11/10/2007
Strong chapter, with a nice heartstopping action sequence. The one real weak point, in my opinion, is Jack Drake. He's just a cartoon. When J. Jonah Jameson acts like this, it's supposed to be funny. The conflict is just too simplistic and too "isn't he wonderful?" on Tim's end.

The Super-Cycle was a welcome YJ element, though, and the very convincing details of Robin's arsenal and slimmer costume read like Tom Clancy's Robin. Thumbs up.
