Hm...interesting. I am a fan of unique ideas, and this is certainly unique. I would just like to point out, though, that there is no "e" in Bashir. Really, this is a neat idea and I look forward to reading more.

Just so you know, Ezri never did anything more on the Defiant than communication and sensors. Jadzia was the major pilot for the ship and seemed to do some science and sensor responsiblities at the same time. So by having Dax pilot, anyone would know that it is Jadzia. (Personally, I would keep it that way as I'm not the biggest fan of Ezri.)

Story is interesting so far. Keep it up.
