This was the absolutely most ADORABLE fic I've read! Remus is actually such a good teacher and I really enjoy it when fics expand on his teaching experiences. Little dora is such a hyperactive, cheerful kiddo (but also knows her manners thanks to Andromeda lol). It's still a tiny tiny bit creepy when you think about how they could have known each other when dora was a wee child, but ended up together and all... BUT this is so cute anyway ahhhh

Wow, I don't often read anything from this era, but it was so heartbreaking. I never thought about how Sirius's "betrayal" could have affected Tonks and her family, nor how Tonks might have known Lupin from so long ago. It really lit up my imagination for the couple who, though I love, I never spent too much time on. Thank you for your amazing and illuminating writing.

Dear author, I just wanted to say I absolutely love this story. In fact, your version of Dora and Remus' relationship is more believable than Rowling's. I loved your portrayal of Remus and the way you showed how painful it was for him to lose so much. You have a talent of putting so much into one line, especially when it comes to characters' emotions. I cried more than once while reading your Teddy Lupin fics. And your story "Shades" is worth a medal. It's obvious you love your characters and that you care about them. The fact I loved Vivian in Shades and even hoped she'd end up with Neville speaks for itself. It's uncommon to find a story in which the author somehow manages to show how he/she cares about the characters. I sincerely hope you will decide to write more stories where Remus looks after Dora. I've never read such a story before and your stories are just so good. That gentle, tentative relationship they have is remarkable. And maybe one day you will even write an alternate ending to Remus and Tonks' story. I keep denying the fact they died, simply because it's easier that way. Thanks for sharing this story.

First, you write child's point of view so well, I just can't find words to describe how much I liked this story. I think you should write more such stories, focusing on Dora and Remus's relationship when she was still a child. That part where Remus doesn't know what to say when Dora asks him to be her friend was so Lupin-y.I think your version of their relationship is even better than Rowling's because even with the details she provided, the relationship is not quite so well developed. I also think you should post shifts and shades here, so that more people can read them. I've finished shades recently and it was so amazing. Your story also brings out Remus' ability to connect with children, I've never read a story which explores this particular c haracter trait.

I'm usually not very fond of relationships between teacher and student that develop into romance. But in this story their relationship was so well written that I'm surprised it's not canon. You captured that warmth Remus' character seems to possess. I loved his relationship with Dora here. I think you should write a story focussing on their relationship as adults, following your own version.I'm glad they invited Remus for lunch, if only someone had done that in the series. I always hated it that he had to be so lonely.

Here's a "real-time" review that I wrote while reading the fic:

It’s heartbreaking to read about Peter the Hero and Sirius the Traitor. Harry heard the professors talking about it, but to read about it while it’s so fresh in Andromeda’s heart is painful. The explanation for how Dora wants to be Remus’ Dora was so sweet. I love how warm the Tonks family is to Remus even before he became the son-in-law. Side note: the squibs couldn’t have a better teacher. I’m sure he’ll make a difference. Oh, Dora buys Granny. I only know Checkmate, Beau Chaton aka Bushy and Martian but I’m sure there will be more cats to meet in Shifts.

this is so awesome! even though it has a different twist on the story. i find it interesting. keep going with it, i fell in love with little tonks and her adoreableness (don't care if i spelt it wrong or if it isn't a word) since she reminds me of my little cousin. i think that you should contiune with the idea, and include sirius being not guilty because that scene mixed with tonks character and youth would be hilarious. keep writing.
