Crimson Cupcake chapter 1 . 12/15/2010 The imagery. Oh the imagery. It was beautifully stained with red...I can imagine the kinslaying /so/ well now. Thanks. xD I have been reading too much angst, and they all leave me speechless. Like this one. The way you shifted from dream to dream was brilliant. I honestly could not tell which was reality, which was probably what you were aiming for. Oh Maitimo D: Poor poor Maitimo. I imagine Kano must be quite upset too, as he was the one who 'refuse to negotiate for [Maitimo's] release', and then seeing him go through this much pain must have broke him D: |
Kitt Otter chapter 1 . 8/24/2008 Hi Still Anonymous! I realized the other day how much I like Maedhros (and how much fun his name is to say)… and then I remembered you had written this story on him. The first time I read it, I had far less knowledge of the back-story; but I’ve gone through the Silm several times since. (Yay). This is so well put together, with oh-so-savory angst and drama. Maedhros’ experience was vivid and heart breaking; it took my breath away. How like Morgoth to taunt him with his most painful memories! First person here works quite well, and I am most impressed by how it flows seamlessly, without confusion, from Alqualonde to Morgoth, and finally to his waking. Really, I did not appreciate the depth of this piece back when… has it been four years already? (Huh). I hope you’re doing well and writing well. *smiles* -Kitt |
Avalon Estel chapter 1 . 12/22/2007 Wow. Wowowow. That was amazing. The imagery, the sheer surrealism of the peace was gorgeous. Definite congrats on the semifinalist award, and definitely keep writing Silm when it strikes you. Great work! |
Erestor chapter 1 . 6/7/2004 Wow, that was really amazing. The way the memories and dreams were blurred together was quite ingeniously managed; I, as the reader, got a very good idea of what Maedhros's thoughts were like. The battle at the start captured well the frenzy of killing, the horror of the First Kinslaying. The second part, with Morgoth being his usual evil self, was chilling. The last part, with Maedhros's sword hand gone: rather poignant. The ending paragraph was powerful. Fabulous job. You're getting better! |
Noldo chapter 1 . 6/5/2004 Very 've pictured Maedhros extremely well: how he must have felt at Thangorodrim, what he thought afterwards, his 'repentance' about the Kinslaying. I also laud you on your vocabulary: you've used several unusual and exciting words. Excellent story. |
Squirrel on the Edge chapter 1 . 6/3/2004 Very nice. The beginning was really powerful. The only thing i noticed is that there are a lot of spots when there aren't any spaces between words. |
Nol chapter 1 . 6/3/2004 This flows wonderfully, image into image and scene into scene. Cinematic and vivd, and it hurts. How it hurts. Great work, thank you. |
Elfique chapter 1 . 6/3/2004 wow, the images in the dream are very vivid: nice writing. the bit where Fingon realised was brilliant. |
