I can make attempts at writing John and Monica and feel pretty good about it. The mythology eludes me but not a talent like you. It was a story that seemed right for the X-Files and not some fakey attempt like a Scooby Do movie.

That said you also do Monica and John beautifully and again weaving Luke's "voice" in at crucial times really works.

Well I'd say it's pretty criminal that this story hasn't gotten more reviews (pun not intended). Great characterisation, prose and general pace of story. Keep up the good work! You can never get enough stories concerning John and Monica! I look forward to the next chapter!

Wow, what a great story. It has definitely distracted me from work today! The characterizations seemed perfect. I could just hear Doggett saying - and thinking - those things.

One small nitpick - You change Peter's last name from Haliburton to Worthington.

Oh wow. You wrote an honest to goodness X-File. And not only did you write one, you wrote it wonderfully, eerily, spectacularly well. Writing from John's perspective was... I want to say a stroke of genius, but I suspect that you write this well all the time. You most definitely provided a valid interpretation of John's character: it was like you dove into his head and picked through his thoughts; like you crawled into his skin and captured his personality. You really brought John and Monica to life, and they truly shone. You took what little personal details CC provided us with spun a very realistic, but also clearly 'ship potential situation around the two of them. Not an easy thing to do with characters that really had no personal relationship in the show.

And the case file - I devoured the case file and all the characters associated with it. Kelly was such a vibrant personality - I closed my eyes and could clearly picture her face, her voice, her power... she, and in fact this whole story, reminded me why I loved the XF so much. It also reminded me that the best fan fiction authors are XF authors.

This read like an XF episode from start to finish. The ending particularly put me in mind of the 'more questions left unanswered than answered' teasers that CC left us with.

So to finish up: I really enjoyed your story. I'm glad I was able to read it all in one sitting, otherwise I would have been going out of my mind waiting for you to upload the next chapter. Hopefully I'll discover you have more XF fics out there.

I'll say it again, this was a wonderful story told through John's POV. I loved it, although, the angst nearly killed me. I kept hoping he was *finally* going to admit his feelings to her. Great job!
