Tacodestroyeravenger chapter 8 . 9/26/2015 Man I was completely confused the whole time while reading this. Yet the parts I got were intriguing. |
wild-springflower chapter 8 . 11/26/2011 wow, this was amazing! thats all i can really say about it! a little confusing at times but whatever, i made it through and i understood what happened... i think! lol. great job, i cant believe that im already done reading this, but alas, now i have to find something else to satisfy my boredom! |
wild-springflower chapter 7 . 11/26/2011 oh dear, poor Skinner! i cant believe the next chapter is the last! it seems like i just started reading this and its already over... :( oh well, at least all this crap will finally come to an end! its a good story, dont get me wrong, just a whole lot of bad stuff keeps hapening to them, and its sad! |
wild-springflower chapter 5 . 11/26/2011 wow, this is getting really good! all i really have to say is, none of the main characters are allowed to die! and lets get onto the next chapter! |
wild-springflower chapter 3 . 11/26/2011 i really enjoy this so far! im a little afraid, but i guess thats the point, right? lol, i cant wait to keep reading. i really liked the comment about how Skinner always is fully clothed and flinches when a match is lit or whatever the exact wording was, that was good! Skinner is like, my favorite character so i like pretty much anything to do with him, but thats kinda how i imagined he would be too! so far, i am really liking this! great job! |
Lady Norbert chapter 9 . 9/27/2004 Sorry it's taken me so long to get around to reading this, but once I started, I could not stop. I am...shaken...by the excellence of this story. The rich detail, the smooth transition from one character's point of view to another, the constant "What's next?" thoughts racing through my head...marvelous. And then you plug MY series in the last chapter? As if I weren't already stunned! Thank you very much for the plug and for the wonderful reviews you have consistently left on TPDoEQ; they are much appreciated. Congratulations on writing something so impressive - I hope you do write a sequel! |
Troodon chapter 8 . 9/2/2004 That was a great ending. Yes, I read this in (I guess you could say) one breath! Will there be a sequel or follow-up of some sort? |
Troodon chapter 1 . 9/2/2004 I CAN'T believe I never read this...after scourging this fandom so long for more excellent fics...interesting beginning. On to the next chapter I go! |
funyun chapter 9 . 8/31/2004 I'm glad you did this. Now, I feel mildly stupid, but it's like putting another language in a book without a translation. It's a compliment to the reader, thinking that they understand, but I'll live without the compliment and just understand what's being said. I understand what you mean about the Mirror Mina thing, and I like it. You can't really kill evil. Just drive it away for a while. It's a good ending. All the same, I hope you write a sequel. Not going to pester you about it, but I hope you do. I'll have to check out all the stuff you listed in this chapter/FAQ. Adios! Hope to see you later. |
Funky In Fishnet chapter 9 . 8/30/2004 ahh most helpful Smilla to have this comprehensive guide. Gave me more food for thought. Thanks also for being an excellent author (hey am I one of those prestigious writers? cool). I hope u recieved my resent chapter. I am so sorry for the awful catastrophe of having to beta again so soon *grovels* sorry! Don't worry about getting it back soon, i realise it'll take time to do. U rock! :- ) |
funyun chapter 8 . 8/24/2004 GAH! It is getting impossible to review this. The stupid computer won't let me review, and then when it does it duplicates all my reviews. For chapter 7, I'm just going to say, it was wonderful. Now onto this one. Goodness, it's hard to review something weeks after you read it. But it was a great chapter. Didn't really have me in a catatonic state of terror, but it's the finale, right? Gotta tie things together and bring your poor readers off their adrenaline high at some point! You know, I found myself liking the Hyde'sbodyJekyll thing better than Jekyll'sbodyJekyll. It seemed... more complete, if you know what I mean. You know, I was really surprised when Jekyll turned back into Hyde. Or whatever you want to call it. It's very confusing. But anyway, somehow I was expecting them to be two separate entities. And the thing with Tom, rotting away... I was uncharacteristically squeamish at that, which annoyed me. You know, if this was made into a movie, that would be a truly amazing special effect. And that thing that talked to him... reminded me of Gollum. The ending, was beautiful. It was, at best hope, a signal for a sequel(PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASSE!). If not, it was very surprising. I liked it. Thank you for a lovely experience, I hope to see you later! |
Drakena the Destroyer chapter 4 . 8/20/2004 I'm afraid I can only make it up to this chapter due to computer problems. So far, I think this story is great, it's like those supernatural horror flicks I've seen. Love the Jekyll/Hyde and Skinner drama. |
SentenHeika chapter 3 . 8/19/2004 heh, im reviewing one of your later chapters cause i forgot something... that last chapter. Powerful. nice ending, nice twist, it was a little confusing for me but oh well, i enjoyed it anyway. Well done! Heres your cookie *hands giant cookie* night night my darling! |
SentenHeika chapter 8 . 8/19/2004 Yes indeed a lady thief! Yes indeed with an interest in Rodney. *Both wave* But ms lady thief is kinda a cat woman. she'll pop up in my fic soon. THANK YOU FOR REVIEWING! you deserve the biggest hugs... so ive gotten one for you. *points to puss in boots* give him back though. and thanks for concidering me! YAY! Most welcome for the encouragement cause it the truth! Anyway, will have me new chappy ready just for you, my freaky dear. *hugs* Just for you! Dont you just feel special! Heh, bye, love. Skinner: Bye Miss. *both wave* |
Keyanna chapter 8 . 8/19/2004 ::takes a deep breath:: I love it I love it I love it you finished it just perfectly you are such a great writer and I couldn't ask for a better written ending to a better written story! You are *amazing*, Smilla! I'm also very impressed (and happy!) that you were able to end it without anyone dying. I entirely thought that Tom had died until Skinner's remark at the end. Great fake-out! I think that my favorite moment may have been Skinner deciding (but futilely) to sacrifice himself. It was really touching. (Of course, I'm quite biased when it comes to that invisible thief) Nemo was his ever-awesome self (yay!), and I thought you did a great job of balancing the characters and depicting their personal reactions. I enjoyed the ending, which was a really nice place to leave things off. It wouldn't have seemed realistic to have everything be instantly perfect for the characters - the depth that you've given them here would definitely have been compromised if the story didn't acknowledge that they still have problems to deal with. Mina's reflection hit a great note in between playful and ominous. Since I'm not a horror fan, I tend to shy away from endings with "Oh no the evil isn't destroyed at all and is right there aah!" sorts of things, but this didn't bother me here. For one thing, it seemed to be a lot more about the fact that things have changed for all of them than about the evil lurching back. Like Mina says, what they went through changed them all, and they aren't going to forget about it just because mirror monsters aren't eating them any more. To me, the reflection winking seemed more playful than scary, a reminder that you don't unlearn what you know. It does keep the threat nearby, but in a way that's about reminding you that a battle ending doesn't translate into happily ever after. Life means you'll be fighting something every day you've got. Thank you so much for your comments, by the way. I'm immensely flattered and I'm really happy that my feedback has been helpful to you with this story. I'm quite serious when I say that this story's one of my favorites - and that I checked at least once daily for updates. Which actually leads me to a request I'd like to make. If I gave you bits of an LXG story that I was working on, would you mind giving me advice and suggestions on it? I must warn you that I'm a big hypocrite given how I pressure others to update; I tend to go at a snail's pace when I try to write. But I think it might be easier if I have someone else urging me to get that first draft done (I don't like posting stuff straight to ff.n because I typically revise a huge amount). I won't mind if you're too busy, but the offer definitely stands to read drafts of whatever I've got so far if you'd like to see it. Thank you for an absolutely wonderful story and for the kindest reception a reviewer could ever hope to get! |
