Wow, great job!

Such a poignant and mesmerizing piece. I think you captured Mai's views on life - and Joey - perfectly. It's a bit different than any other story I've read. Not to say that I didn't enjoy it immensely. Nice to see the characters in a different light at times. A job well done would be an understatement. Keep up the awesome work. :D

Holy ra, that was a good fic! I can't believe I haven't read it before! I'm an uber-big polarshipper, and pretty much the only fics I read are polar. That was really well written. I was slightly confused as to where Jou came from at the end, but reading over it again, I think I understand what you were trying to do. It was very in character with Mai, something that can be very hard for writers to do. Overall, a great fic! Thanks for the good read! _

I think Mai would be a bit put off by dating a teenager. I figure se has to overcome her own fears first.

Though I gotta tell you I don't see a problem with the age difference. I suppose after watching the anime too many times I find they simply belong together. (though I gotta agree on the fact that I hate it when people write fics where the're the same age)

I think it's pictured more as a denied love as the're both in denial not just Mai.

O_O. You know, at first I thought Mai/Jounouchi couldn't work... I mean, she's 24 and he's 16; that would be pedophilia! Or something like that. Guess I was right... Doesn't change the fact that they do seem to like eachother.

...That was... so very sad, but also sweet. Mai's thoughts were described so well, how things could of been, how they actually are...

So short, but so touching. It's nice to see the characters treated well in characterization, even if it ended sadly. A lovely story.

Wow . . . this was such a sad and remarkable story. There are very few people, I think, who have looked at the Mai/Jounouchi pairing in this light.

Which is both a shame - because this is so realistic - and (in personal opinion) a good thing - because this is so realistic. And knowing that breaks my heart.

A wonderfully realistic description of what might be going on in Mai's head and heart. I love the way you wrote her, especially her view on herself and Joey. _ I also liked the balanced mix of events and thoughts, with sometimes the last illustrating the first and sometimes the first adding to the last.

That was very thoughtfull and well paced. The writing was superb, and the besic theme flowed well. Sad ending, though, but that felt like the angle you were going for. Very nice work. Keep it up.
