Never thought I would find a Mag7 Old West story written and told as a murder mystery. That was really nicely done. It felt like we were in Agatha Christie's world. And what a fun to see Chris in the role of Hercule Poirot, questioning the suspects and writing in a notepad! Nice twist at the end.
In addition the plot was vey good, with historical background and you wrote it with a lot of insight. I could feel wih the characters. Love how you write the relationship between the Seven.
Felt the sentence a bit harsh though; was it really manslaughter or an accident? The stabbing of a corpse cannot be prosecuted as such... Considering the time period however, it was probably fitting and we all know Judge Travis is a fair man.

Nice mystery. I figured out the killer but it was nice to see just how you would get Ezra off the hook. Darn the guy did look guilty. I'm glad she wasn't hung.

Now how much fun did Chris have making Ezra squirm? Hee hee! :)

Very emotional story, and a wonderful mystery. The whole thing was wonderfully put together, and I really couldn't figure out who dun it till the end. I find it funny but believable that Maude wouldn't like slavery, the reasons you put forth were quite logical.

A well written muder-mystery. I suspected what really happend after Nathan first mentioned the sleeping powder, but it was still fun to see how Chris solved the puzzle. His reason why he knew that Ezra didn't do it made me laugh.

What a great story! I don't know how far into the series you wrote this but I think Ezra wouldn't have tried the con nor would Chris have believed him guilty of murder after the first few episodes.

A great mystery story - something you don't often see with Mag7.

Very good story. Nice twist about the combination of drug/alcohol killing him. Wasn't expecting that. Using Ez to get the truth was a good idea too as it certainly kept in character for Chris to blame him.

Yaaay! *giggles* You had me going there! I was all confused (*not* a difficult task, mind you *g*). The comment about how the murder would have made a big mess and there would have been blood everywhere got me thinking about Ezra and how me was covered in blood, and I about freaked! :) But Chris's comment (Chris smirked, "Are you kidding? All that blood? I know you care far too much for your clothes to kill someone in such a…messy fashion.") was quite true. *g* Your detail was amazing, and I just loved everything you did with it! Wonderful drama, with a touch of humorous diaogue to ease the tension. Amazing work!

I am stunned at the incredible quality of this story. I don't know where Tipper gets the ideas, but I sure hope there's more.
