Excellent story: well-written, suspenseful, emotionally satisfying, and gratifyingly Amanda-centric. very well-done.

What a wonderful story. I've read it before countless times and this is one of my 'go to' stories. There is only a small handful of stories that I enjoy so thoroughly, that I have to go back and re-read them. This is one of them. You had a great storyline, the dialogue was perfect and the non-verbals set up your scenes so well. I haven't read any story like this in the past so it is truly unique. I am especially enthusiastic that Amanda chose to look Lee in the eye and be honest about her method to quiet him during that nail biting scene. In many episodes, she never takes credit for her contribution involving cases but she went to hell and back and I'm so glad she didn't back down and told him the truth. Great writing! I know it's been years but I'd love to see some new stories from great SMK writers!

Amanda doggedly put one foot in front of the other and found inside herself what she needed to save the lives of Lee and herself. In so doing, she also received her wish to let Lee know her feelings for him and it sounds like he's reciprocating. Mr. Balanchev was also a hero and received his wish to remain in The Land of the Free.

Once started, I had to read straight through till your conclusion. You are an amazing storyteller and this is a beautifully written story! It's an honor to be the one whose review pushes your count from double digits to a very well-deserved 100th review for this incredible story!

The accident scene feels jumbled and distorted, which is pretty much what Amanda is also experiencing. It keeps me ultra-involved in their plight. Their torturous hike is a re-enactment of the WWII Bataan Death March in the Philippines, but in a mountain versus tropical setting. Amanda saved them from discovery by initiating a kiss and letting Lee take over. However did she manage to listen to their pursuers while he was kissing her? What a woman! So close, but not close enough they both collapse. What a cruel cliffhanger!

There's a time and a place, but another Soviet with ill intent is watching and waiting. Sadly, this mission isn't amenable to Lee and Amanda taking that important first step toward a romantic relationship. You write their dilemma well. Sure hope Lee and Amanda are already in position for their meeting, which would foil the bad Soviet's plan.

Nothing bad has happened, but you've already created suspense about their mission and sexual tension between them as well. I'm in accord with Amanda, those two camp guides give me the creeps. I live in the mountains so it's not due to different sounds in unfamiliar territory, it's definitely Beau and Big Ernie.

Great story Great idea for a codename for her as well. I love it!

I know it has been years since you have posted and I don't know if you're still on the site. I just wanted to say this was a amazing story. I loved courageous Amanda and how she was able to persevere and take care of Lee for once.

oh wow..that story kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. Fantastic, wonderful..full of angst and showing how resourceful Mrs. King truly is when she has to protect Lee. I loved every minute of it. The kiss was great too. Thanks for such a wonderful story that stayed true to the characters...I can't wait to read more of your stories and hope you will continue writing SMK stories cause you are very talented.

I realized I never wrote a review for this despite having favorited and followed you as an author largely due to this story (not that your other pieces aren't fun reads! _). Ever since I read this, in my personal continuity Lizaveta becomes Amanda's code name. I love the romantic undertones woven throughout the story but that isn't my favorite part. My favorite part is how you showcase Amanda's resourcefulness, strength and determination while she becomes the -no other interpretations possible- savior of Scarecrow. All that without ever being untrue to her wonderful, sweet character. On top of that, I love Balanchev! _ You are an exceptional author and the feel-good spirit of this story can only be topped by my very favorite episodes of the show itself. Thank you!

This is one of my all-time favorite SMK stories. It is well written, full of romance and drama and finishes with an awesome kiss! Well done! Thanks for sharing your time and talent with us!
