Wow…deep
shotokuta chapter 1 . 9/9/2013
There needs to be more stories like this.
Persephone Oswald Oleesen chapter 1 . 7/29/2012
Oh, God - where do I even start? I found this story through a forum, and the topic was 'best fanfiction ever'. I wanted to read something amazing tonight, and on a whim I clicked "Rainbow Boy", even though I've never been a huge fan of Digimon and have only read a few stories.

My GOD, was I blown away.

Let me give you a little more backstory; I really don't know these characters. The only one I can really picture in my mind is Tai, and that's because of his huge hairdo. But the way you introduced this fic was simply gripping. For whatever reason, I continued to read a story from a fandom that I really know nothing about - and I couldn't stop.

When you think about the fact that I know nothing about these characters or this series, is the fact that I cried multiple times during this story odd? I'm chalking it up to the raw power your words hold in this oneshot. Your descriptive power is insane. The pain these characters were feeling is so palpable that I had to leave my computer for a few moments. There are very real feelings in this story, and the way you capture them is just amazing. I'm going to stop rambling now, but know this; I agree with the member who listed this story as one of the best they have ever read.
orange sodap0p chapter 1 . 5/23/2012
Oh wow, this is deep.

When I was little, there was a death in my family, but I didn't fully understand it because my mind couldn't comprehend it. And then later, I've heard of people in my high school committing suicide, but I didn't understand it much, and I didn't understand them because I never knew them, only heard of them. So while death was around me, I still didn't fully grasp it. But then in college, someone I did know committed suicide, and another was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. And finally then, from those two incidents, did I finally register what it was like to lose someone, and realize that they would never come back. It's so scary, and the way you captured that with each character is so realistic. It especially hit home with the questions of who decides to take them away, when is it someone's time to go? Because those questions I think, everyone asks at some point. And Tentomon, I cried when he learned of Izzy. It reminded me of a child, learning for the first time someone you love won't be coming back.

You write this so well, and bring out so many thoughts and memories of my own. I usually don't read sad stories because I just don't like being sad, but this one, everyone should read.
daily-chan chapter 1 . 3/23/2012
I've first read this story in 2005 (i'm the daily that reviewed back then) and till this day it still remains my favourite story. It never fails to make me cry. You wrote this story fantastically. How everyone's reacting and dealing with izzy's death is so realistic, so beautifully written and the reasoning for izzy's death...yeah...just sniffles.

But it's hard to face the sunrise. When you fear what the day will be, So my choice is made; inexorable: I have to go-for me.'"

that part truly got me down in tears because it's so easy to understand what izzy's going through, why he let go in the end. I loved how you put him down as a person that everyone generally thought was happy while he was suffering so much inside. It is easy to fool people if you don't want to worry then, and that is exactly what this story gives me the feeling off. Izzy loved his friends more than anything but in the end just couldn't hold on to them anymore because it hurt him so much...yeah, you wrote it perfectly. The best story I have ever read and one that I will forever treasure in my heart. Thank you for sharing it with us so many years ago already...and I hope it will reach many more people on here :) Thank you
NaruSasu666 chapter 1 . 8/9/2011
""He Loved Them" by Izumi Koushiro(And a quick, scribbled message: "He loved them, and he still does!" Followed by a wide-eyed smiley face.)He lived happily ever after; A boy who often wore a mask of happiness While underneath, he died. He left his friends alone on earth-The lesser of two types of crime...He had to go, but he loved them so-Much more than once...upon a time." This...I was tearing up through this entire story, but this was what made me cry. This, plus the epilogue. You are an incredible writer and the way you wrote this, it just felt so real. The idea that there is more to the quiet computer nerd, something that could make him actually want to hurt/kill himself, it makes for a wonderful story. You wrote so well, it's almost as if the readers can feel the pain. I wish there had been a bit more with Izzy before his death, like an insight into how he's feeling, but still just teasing us with what's going through his head. However, I loved it the way you wrote it. It's not often that I come across stories that are as well written as this, so I think this will be added to my favorites. Keep writing, you have a real talent for it!
Pinecallado chapter 1 . 7/25/2010
One of the best digimon stories I ever read

Well written and made me cry a bit

Excellent...
ImmaBeatYouWithaCrowbar chapter 1 . 5/7/2010
Too lazy to login.

Wow. Wow.
This made me cry more than once, and that's really saying something. Izzy is my favorite Digi character, and I've always wanted to see more depth to him...and this is just what I was looking for! This is amazing! It perfectly captures all of their personalities, and I love how you illuminated the personalities of some of the more forgotten Digi characters, especially Joe, Izzy, and Tentomon.
AkimaruHatake777 chapter 1 . 8/17/2009
Oh, great. Now I'm going to go emo! -_- *sigh* Oh well, it was really great and strangely, I could actully connect to what Izzy felt like in this story...that's not good but I'm not doing drugs. _ ...or dead...But anyways, great job on the story! Keep writing!
dreamer chapter 1 . 7/1/2009
omg. poor izzy! i cried for most of the story - i could barely read on halfway through!
15animefreak15 chapter 1 . 1/15/2008
Aw...that was so sad...my poor Koushiro-kun. *sniffs* The ending made it a little better, not as painful. You know, it's weird, but...I've noticed quite a few stories where Izzy has suicidal problems and such. So...why Izzy? Just because he's adopted? Matt and T.K.'s parents got divorced, and I never see stories about them being depressed...
Chaotic Demon chapter 1 . 12/12/2007
I first read this fic years ago, and I always remembered it by name. That's how memorable it is. Now, having depression and knowing people who have ODed, I couldn't stop crying; I had to take breaks in order to sob. This was definately very well written and moving. Great job.
daily chapter 1 . 9/28/2005
what a beautiful story you have writen. it's so sad and depressing but it's also so real. you have writen it'so we got the feeling that we are inside the story. not many writers have such a great skill. it is so beautiful to see how you writen the sadness in the lives of the ones that stay behind, but you made the end so that we understand why izzy did it and that he is happier now. i can't waith to see other works of you're hand. keep it going, and don't give this talent up.
A Random Person chapter 1 . 12/8/2004
Good story, really sad though.
kyokyolover chapter 1 . 10/21/2004
This story is so good and you make sound perfect sense. It makes me like Izzy more even though i'm a matt fan.
