Reviews for The Emperor's Artwork
Drakefire chapter 1 . 4/1/2019
This deserves a lot more attention than it gets, I'm not going to lie. This is put together perfectly. 10/10.
EverandeverGreen chapter 1 . 2/12/2018
Holy frigging crap am I ever glad I found this. That ending!
nekochan1994 chapter 1 . 8/8/2017
... That... was really sad.
Guest chapter 1 . 2/6/2017
Wow, amazing fanfic! :)
Seaside Fantasies chapter 1 . 2/1/2017
Oh man, that was so good. Short and sweet, with an ending that I totally did NOT see coming, and one of the best characterizations of Thrawn that I've ever seen. I just wish we'd gotten a bit more interaction among him and Binti, but that's a mild nitpick at best. Keep up the good work!
EndlessBlue chapter 1 . 9/24/2016
Creepy, seductive, dangerous, tragic - you did so much with so little. Thrawn was amazingly in character, and again I'm impressed that you gave him such an enigmatic and enthalling presence in just a few paragraphs. I totally believe little power plays and intrigues like this happened all the time on Coruscant. Very well done!
HRHPrincessTricia chapter 1 . 12/12/2015
That was something else. It's sad that Binti was killed off so quickly. I would have liked to see more of their interactions together.
SLotH4 chapter 1 . 6/12/2015
Short and sweet. Thrawn was an awesome character in the EU and I think you captured him beautifully.
RevanchistLeader chapter 1 . 1/9/2015
Extremely well done! I was expecting more of a romance at first, but you caught me off guard. While it's sad that Binti died, the story follows beautifully with Thrawn's attitude and Palpatine's ruthlessness. I actually sat here laughing because it fit the situation so well.
chisscientist chapter 1 . 5/17/2014
Artistically done! And are the Noghri under Thrawn's command yet at this point?
isubs11 chapter 1 . 9/23/2013
Utterly riveting. Not going to be very coherent here but you simply created an incredibly vivid, believable Thrawn with immense sensitivity to detail. I was hanging onto every tiny word. The way you played with sentence structure and length was gorgeous, too. In the SW fandom you really have to comb through the heap to find anything worth reading. And then, nary so often, one finds a work like yours - a rare, titillating gem of a fic _ Thanks for writing something so wonderful :)
Joysweeper chapter 1 . 2/1/2012
This is one of the few stories I've read in which Thrawn seems completely in character. I adore it. Good job!
All'alba Vincero chapter 1 . 7/17/2011
Fantastically written, you capture the essence of Thrawn perfectly, through your Ishmael of Binti.

The only complaint that I have is inclusion of the final two paragraphs; they are an extremely blunt, almost jarring epilogue to an otherwise smooth character study. In addition, at the time that Thrawn had been recalled from the Unknown Regions, he had already won the Emperor's trust and faith, which would make the assassination of Binti to teach Thrawn a lesson an out-of-character moment for the Emperor. Had you excluded the final afterthought, this would be a near-perfect composition. As it is, it stands on its own as a very insightful addition to the character of Thrawn.
KsandraMallan chapter 1 . 2/10/2011
That was... Brilliant. Such a good portrayal of Thrawn. Love it love it love it.
QueenOfMadness chapter 1 . 11/16/2009
Let's put it this way... if I didn't find this on this site, I would have assumed it was the work of Timothy Zahn. It's that close to the spirit and original portrayal of the trilogy. Wonderful
