Aw, I love this! I really like Archie, and it's a crying shame the show ended up killing him off. And you provide a quite plausible, if horrifying, explanation for why he had those nervous fits due to Jack.

I also like the fatherly attitudes toward Horatio displayed by Pellew and Matthews. Very realistic and true to the story line.

And, of course, I thought you portrayed Horatio's personality with great accuracy. Well done.

Brilliantly written! One of the best Hornblower fics I've read. The storyline was engrossing and you really brought the characters to life, especially Hornblower, Kennedy and Pellew.
