I know this is out of the blue, but I wanted to tell you how much I loved this story. I've never left a review for it before, but I remember reading this story back when you were still working on it.
You pulled off an incredible amount of world building: a new history expanding on the already detailed world Rowling created, brand new characters, their motivations, personalities, and flaws all working together to create fascinatingly complex characters in a detailed world.
The relationship between Harry and Cho is wonderful. Blaise's blunt pragmatism and strength balanced by her self-doubts and insecurities leads to a wonderful and deeply human character.
On top of all this, you have terrifying villains, many of whom go beyond the generic "magic/racial purity" thing.
The violence also captures the horrifying brutalities of war, better than the original books did I'd say. The conflicts between the students, especially the Brotherhood of Merlin, show the complexities of war, and how it never truly boils down to one side vs. another. There are always side conflicts, and racism exists even in students among the "good houses".
I'm telling you all of this, because I want to make sure you know this story still has at least one fan. The amount of time since an update seems to suggest it has been abandoned, but you seem to still be writing other stories, so I hope that means you have not given up your writing all together. I do not know if any of this will change your opinion on the status of this story, but I wanted to express how I felt all the same.
Ultimately, this is a story that still deserves to be concluded and doing so would make me, and I'm sure other people, very happy.
