This is excellent! Its been several years since I've dug into The Authority, and was curious to see what was available for fanfiction. I've enjoyed this one immensly, and hope that at some point it gets updated again.

Although I suppose you've completely changed fandom during these years, it would be great if you could finish this fic. Or, at least, provide us with some sort of "What I wanted to write", so we can know how this fic would have gone. :D

It's simply a shame leaving like this (and, I say again, maybe you're simply not in the fandom anymore, so no fire to you _-), because there are actually few Authority fics out there, and even more less good as this one! :)

I really liked this story. I'm new to the Authority, but I thought you had their voices all down perfectly, and the setup has left me on the edge of my seat! I know it's been a while since you put this up, but i hope you do come back to it someday.

Oh god, this story is wonderful!
I'm a huge fan of Midnighter and Apollo, and you've done a fine job of recreating their (and all of the authority's) characters. Apollo's admittance that Middy was dying just broke my heart!
Please, do continue, and soon! I can't stand the thought of them losing one another!

Hey, quite a dramatic story. I like this. I have to say this before I go into a detailed analysis.
Now; the title- 'Mantraps':
"Christine: I don't know what made you play it like that, but...
Jackson: Like what?
Christine: Well, to trust them. I mean, I'm glad you did...
Jackson: I DON'T. I had the pair sprayed with a bacterial mantrap before they left the station."
(This probably isn't accurate, as it is just as I'm recalling it.) I'm guessing that the bacterial agent Jackson sprayed them with has somehow become active. I think that he should definately inform Jenny of it.
Or would that prevent him from later forming the Monarchy? Hmm... (I would imagine 13 zillion volts is bad for your health.)
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the update.
