A bittersweet ending - and a good choice to turn the viewpoint around for the epilogue, to one of a character who never knew the one person who was responsible for changing their lives for the better. It shows how Luigi will eventually be enshrined in legend in their world, in generations to come.

Intentional or not, the break between posting the last chapter and these last two chapters mirrors the 6 month break where we find Mario at Luigi's grave, and for me, it gave time to come to terms with his death in the story. Even the death had a bittersweet twist to it, in that he was at last reunited with his love in some way. We had a glimpse of that better place.

I should have known, really, with a story that begins with two of the main characters permanently disfigured, that things were never going to end with a pretty pink bow on top. But its message is clear that things do eventually heal, and life does go on, a message that is clear, right from the title, through to the very last paragraph.

Well done for finishing this wonderful story. I feel lucky to have discovered it while it was still in progress, and have enjoyed the excitement of every update right through to the end.

And I hope, with your fanfic writing here, that this isn't the end.

Can't believe you actually did it! Hot damn! You have dedication that I could only dream of having, and I truly enjoyed the ride. I plan to re-read this beast in the future and hopefully give you a more in depth review. You did good though, Robin, and thank you for finishing it.

This chapter hit me like a punch in the gut, it was so heartbreakingly sad. I was hoping that Luigi would pull through somehow, but it was beautiful to see him reunited with Daisy. I liked how the brothers' last words to each other partly echoed their conversation from the last flashback, when they were young in Brooklyn and Mario saved Luigi from the bullies.

I enjoyed the imagery and symbolism in this chapter. It was interesting how, when Luigi saw his vision of Daisy earlier, she was ragged and broken, but now he sees her happy and whole. I also really love the dual symbolism of the rain. Rain is so often used to represent tears and grief, but at the same time, rain brings life. Anyway, this chapter was beautiful. I can't wait for the next one. :')

Luigi was so brave to fight like this- but that ending! :( The gore was awesome though- just right for this chapter!

Wow! So many updates! You are amazing! So much intense drama and action! I was really excited when they found the medicine cabinet and when all their allies from Sky World came to their aid. Maybe they can win this after all.
Peach's thoughts on Bowser were interesting. It sounds like something Bowser would do: The Magikoopas offer him spells to make him stronger, and he eagerly jumps at the chance, but the spells backfire. Or work too well, depending on how you look at it. They make him stronger, but they also enhance all his aggression, anger, hatred, etc. It would explain how he got to be this level of psychotic.
I loved the flashback with little Luigi and Mario, and how Mario called Luigi his hero. :') I also loved how Mario encouraged Luigi before the battle. Maybe their relationship is starting to mend now. I hope so. And I was thinking that the new baby could actually help their relationship, too. As long as Mario and Peach make sure that Luigi feels included. It is his niece or nephew, after all. Of course, none of that will matter much if Luigi is, y'know...dead... :'(

Damn! I remember reading this back in the first few years it came out before I quit FFN and somehow came back. I feel the struggle to complete old stories, but we’re determined!

The first few chapters were still good, but I definitely noticed changes in the style of writing. Im excited to see what comes next!

I gasped out loud when I got the notification for this! The impact of the scenes earlier in the story still stay with me today years after I read them, and it was easy to pick up where I left off. Poor Kelley - she knew she had no hope. This is a good chapter to come back with. I hope you don't leave it so long for the next one!

Yikes! Poor Kelley! That part was chilling. Looks like things are about to get serious. It's good to see Mario and Peach acting a bit like their old selves again. But I'm still worried about Luigi... At least he's ready and willing to follow his brother into battle. But he and Mario still have some serious issues they need to work through. *sob* Daisy...

I was a bit surprised about Peach and Mario having a baby, but I like it. Let's just hope they all survive... *knocks on wood*

I'm back after about 4 years, and this story is still quite a nice read even after so long. Whatever you're doing now Robin Lee I just want you to know that this was one of my first fanfictions I'd ever read and definitely one of the greatest. It's kinda sad to see your account go dormant, but I hope you're doing well and that you're happy with what you're currently doing.

This entire story is achingly beautiful. And while it may sound strange, it feels very authentic to the Mario universe. Granted, something this apocalyptic would never happen in actual canon. But if it DID, well, I think you present a very believable picture of what a post-apocalyptic Mushroom world would be like. I loved that Luigi was the one to find Mario and convince him to be a hero again! But now Luigi is struggling... :'( Luigi's behavior is very understandable, but it still hurts my heart to see the Mario bros so at odds with each other. Of course Mario needs to be there for Peach, but he needs to be there for Luigi, too! I just hope he can reach him before it's too late...

So, I know you're not going to finish this story, but...
PLEASE FINISH THIS STORY! *sobs* It's okay if it's old. Heck, it's okay if YOU'RE old. I'm old, too! You just have to tell us what happens! This story is too beautiful to die! And I know I have no right to be begging this of you when I myself haven't posted anything since 2014, but I was never really that good anyway! You are! *sniff* Okay, I've said my peace. I'll leave you alone now. I'll just be in my corner, with my jar of Nutella, mourning the death of this story.
