Reviews for That Which is Hidden
Larner chapter 3 . 10/21/2005
It is good to see this story here as well as at HASA. I was one of those who voted for its acceptance there, and it is just as beautiful and moving as I reread it now as it was when I first read it.

Thanks for allowing me to follow it again.
queerquail chapter 10 . 10/27/2004
All I can say is...wow. Seriously. This is one of the best LOTR fics out there! I really liked how you could dive deep into each character's mind and portray them so accurately. Great. :D
Shire Baggins chapter 10 . 5/19/2004
This is a lovely, wonderful tale. I don't know how I missed this story for so long. Your characterizations are true and at the same time refreshingly real. I love the way you delve into Galadriel's mind and at the same time Galadriel sees Frodo's turmoil. It was so nice to see Frodo receive comfort and care and a little love from the elf Tyriel. You could expand this into a heartbreaking love story someday if you chose to do so. I hope you will be writing more stories soon because you have a wonderful gift. Thanks for sharing!
mirari1 chapter 7 . 3/20/2004
You have a lovely lyrical style, and your characterizations of both Galadriel and Frodo are spot-on. A pleasure to read!
Bejai chapter 10 . 3/19/2004
Lovely, lovely story. So thoughtful, so fresh. I very much enjoyed seeing Frodo through Galadriel's eyes. And I also appreciated how you portrayed Celeborn. "The Wise," indeed, even if in Galadriel's shadow. So many people disregard what he had to have meant to her. Wonderful, artistic work. Bravo.
Nevdoiel chapter 7 . 3/8/2004
Great story! keep writing, i'm so glad you are one of the people who realizes that Celeborn exists
Lurea chapter 6 . 3/7/2004
It is so perfectly within Galadriel's character to have her say: "I did not wish to interfere with your own managing of your friend’s attentions." Perfect, and soo Elvish!
And this line:
"The loss of freedom," he finally answered, "the freedom to trust"
is haunting. Poor Frodo! You capture some of his inner torment very well.
Lurea chapter 5 . 3/7/2004
I love this chapter, naiade! You established a very chilling scene-I found myself reading faster to find out what happens! And you maintain reader sympathy with Boromir, not an easy task to do!
I also love how you Galadriel character does not simply stand around looking beautiful. She is a busy ruler and a capable administrator.
Bejai chapter 7 . 3/6/2004
This is really quite an extrordinary story. I've never read one quite like it. Expressive, haunting, powerful. That moment when the ring appears and disrupts the elven merrimaking underscores its power over everyone.
Enjoyed too the moments with Celeborn, who lives up to his name, "Celeborn the Wise." As far as I know, the relationship between Celeborn and Galadriel is the longest running in all of Middle Earth. Their deep, quite love, their intimate familiarity with one another is a beautiful thing. Glad that he can give her some strength and warning.
Very much enjoying this story, and lookinf forward to more.
Katrina chapter 5 . 3/3/2004
Wow! So cool!
UR the best author ever! Pweese update soon!
Lurea chapter 4 . 2/26/2004
Galadriel's musings on Frodo's defenses against the Ring are extrememly apt and thought-provoking.
"-the One Ring was evil, as intended. Yet, most of us forgot that when it suited. Frodo did not forget -"
Very enjoyable passage! You have a wonderfully descriptive way with words.
Galadriel's distance and curiosity regarding Frodo is perfect, too. We sense that she is begining to respect him, but you let the relationship develop in its own time. Looking forward to the next update!
Lurea chapter 3 . 2/26/2004
Your language is eloquent and elegant. Galadriel's voice is very well-done and beautifully elvish. The glimpse into her history and the history of the Noldor adds another layer of complexity to the tale. I look forward to more updates!
Bejai chapter 4 . 2/24/2004
I am very much enjoying this story. Galadriel's temptation is always intriguing, for, given her history, letting it go must have been very difficult for her. But you seem to be suggesting that she gets her strength to do so from Frodo himself. Brilliant idea. Expressive writing, facinating subject - I'll certainly look forward to updates.
Venetian Scarlet chapter 1 . 2/24/2004
I loved your story! It was beautifully written, it was interesting. Its so cool how you wrote a fanfic from the perspective of Galadriel. Keep up the good work! :)
