Ailiel Raith of Ithilien chapter 1 . 5/19/2009
Sad but beautiful! I've always believed that Arthur loved Morgaine more than he ever loved his queen. I suppose despite what he did in the end Mordred must have loved his father in his own way - and you portrayed that perfectly.

Mordred was just misguided. Morgaine was used by her aunt to further her plans. And Arthur was not only the king but he was also Morgaine's brother and Mordred's father. I actually hated Guinevere for her inability to accept Arthur's past which happened before her time.

AFY chapter 1 . 6/6/2008
Every emotion here is brought forth very, very human and it just makes you feel for all three. To put it simply: Lady, you got a gift.

Saranha de Angelo chapter 2 . 6/28/2004
This is incredible! I think you characterized Arthur perfectly, and Mordred at the end (I think he name doesn't have an "a", but that doesn't really matter). He admitted to wanting to love his parents, but he couldn't find the ability to. And Arthur's thoughts on Morgaine are very powerful...exactly what I imagine he felt. Great job!
snazy piranha chapter 2 . 4/13/2004
hey,
this was amazing. I was completely taken aback, and this rarely happens. This story was so...honest, if you know what i mean. arthur just let what he thought out, and didn't care who knew it.
what i loved about your fic is that arthur didn't deny his love to morgaine, he didn't cover it up and lie to himself. he greeted it openly, and whole heartedly, and this is one of the key things about this story.
Mordread was great in this (is it spelled Mordred or Mordread?) i never really got the impression that Mordread loved his father, which is sad, because arthur was a good man. But here, you showed that Mordread was a normal person, not some tyrant who wanted the crown and bloodshed. You showed him to be compassionate, truthful, vulnerable, yet determined, for he cannot challenge fate.
I never usually agree with stories being one shots, but this is the only one i think should never be changed or added on, simply because there is nothing else to say, and of course, as the all say, 'less is more'. the way the story is now, it jsut...speaks.
great job. it sent shivers up my spine.
Liv chapter 2 . 3/25/2004
