Oh, delightful! Merry with his sharp, evaluating, enterprising mind and Pippin with all his innocent sweetness! I especially loved the line about Frodo keeping Pippin out of trouble at Bag End - what a wonderful opening for all sorts of hobbit-child mayhem. And I can't wait to see how Merry sidles around the "No wagering" command.

I have read all of your LotR hobbity goodness fanfics on your homepage site, and I don't normally review fics, but I would just like to tell you that you are a completely remarkable, amazing, incredible author. Just lovely, lovely, lovely. You have an amazing talent, and I could go on for ages and ages and even the Elves would tire of hearing me talk about what a an utterly magnificent author you are. I am in love with hobbits and the Shire, and was delighted when I came across the little stash on your site. My favorite of all your works has to be "I Always Know You". Then next comes "Fate and the High King's Falcon" and then of course, "Goodhobbits"! Excellent job.

Marvelous, though, really. I love how well you construct your plots so there's never any little bit that feels unnecessary or any moment where the story drags. On top of that you've managed to stay in canon, wonderfully in character AND make a sharp, witty parody.
This was such a fun read and I enjoyed every word of it. Bravo to you and thanks as well to Marigold for being such a good, thuggy beta. Just wonderful.

I LOVE this story. I love how you can take something so human and make it so utterly..hobbity. Some of my favorite lines:

As if a Brandybuck would ever cheat!
...bristling as only a Took can bristle.

I'm reading in this window that it's helpful to use this opportunity to comment on an aspect of the story that can be improved. So I will try. Umm... sorry. Not coming up with anything that needs to be improved. You are *the* authority on hobbit POV in LOTR fanfiction, and you've taken one of the wackier Martinez essays over on and made it truly hobbity.

I really enjoyed this story! I'd bet on Little Pip every time.

Yes, lads will be lads, won't they? This is very sweet. Those hobbits certainly are not as innocent as they look, eh? But I love your portrayal of Saradoc and Esmeralda. You just sent me giggling with Merry's repetitive "Yes, Mum." And isn't Pippin always lucky? Yeah, I'll take the bet? :)
