The reason why he could pull Kaioken with blue was because of the amount of Ki control it takes to sustain both forms. All he had to do was concentrate. But the point of the super saiyan transformations is to let the ki run wild. In other words, power up alot. Kaioken takes concentration to use, which contradicts the transformations. So basically, you have a body struggling to do too much at once, and it can end up killing itself. XD

I never understood why Chi-Chi always tried to stop Gohan from training and fighting. She wanted to not let him get into dangerous situations, but she always got in the way when he wanted to get stronger to protect himself from someone who would kill him if he was too weak. That is a terrible time to try to stop him from training.
