Holy crap this was good. Just beautiful.

So sweet! I love bed time cause its where the most intimate stuff are brought to the surface. Hyde is always so pissed, but in his time alone with jackie in bed he can be who he tries to hide. Great story!

I loved this. It was beautiful and simple and sweet, and I think your Jackie and Hyde were very in character here. I like seeing Hyde's vulnerable side come out thanks to Jackie, and the ending especially was sweet :D

What a lovely, in-character missing moment! I absolutely loved this. Hyde and Jackie both feel incredibly real here. The intimacy between their bodies is written very well - and intimacy is the key word. Often in J/H stories, that's lost in favored of intensity. From Jackie twisting her fingers in his curls, to Hyde sucking the ice cream off her thigh, to the details of them lying together on the cot. I could see and feel everything.

And Hyde's focus on the physical didn't feel sexual but emotional. He's clearly smitten (and in love) with Jackie. Their dialogue is wonderful, too. Playfully tense and honest. That this scene takes place after "The Acid Queen" makes perfect sense. That episode was all about Jackie wanting to trust Hyde loved her, and him leaving his ice cream to get the Vogue was the proof. This scene is a perfect follow-up to that and a delightful addition to Zennie fanfiction.

Some of my favorite parts of the scene (though I really enjoyed all of it):

Perhaps, Hyde thought drowsily, he and Jackie didn't count as 'partially naked' while they made up a full set of clothing between the two of them.

Hyde was wearing his sweatpants, because a couple of weeks ago, he'd been holding his undershirt, about to lift his arms and pull the shirt on over his head, when Jackie had pranced out of his shower, hair damp and curling slightly, with nothing but a shirt and panties on.

Obviously it wouldn't be fair to make Jackie uncomfortable by being more dressed than she was. Or something. Either way, Hyde had quickly kicked his worn shirt into a corner before it could get any ideas and as far as he knew, it was still there.

That first night, Jackie had been wearing a long-sleeved plaid shirt she'd borrowed from Donna. It had come down to her knees. Soon enough, however, Hyde and Jackie had found that thumbing all those buttons out of their holes in the dark was a bitch of a task for two tired teenagers...

"Nothing," Hyde said, and sort of nudged Jackie's bare thigh with his shoulder so she'd know that if she wanted to start on his hair again, he wouldn't mind. He was in a prime position to do this because he had his head in Jackie's lap and his cheek against her leg.

Perhaps eventually Hyde would have to find his undershirt and wash it so Jackie could wear it. Hyde's Undershirt didn't have *any* sleeves. At all.

When they were alone, Jackie said his name as often as she could - with every sentence almost. Hyde had to settle for leaving hickeys in interesting places, but Jackie had his name. That was strangely... big. It gave Hyde an odd feeling in his chest.

His whole side was suddenly cold where he'd been pressed against Jackie's warm skin, and really - logically - the only thing to do about that was to press back against her as soon as possible.

but here - in the dark, just now - Hyde was warm and... satisfied, and he liked having to squeeze up against Jackie so the both of them could share a pillow.

"So, like, do I have to talk about how cute you are now?"

Jackie considered this, and shrugged. "Nah. I hear it every day from everyone else. It'd be boring to hear it from you."

That...was...just...PERFECT! D You've really captured their personalities and little quirks, I loved it.

Alas... if they only remembered moments like this during the end of season 7 and all of season 8... / what a waste.

AWWW! This is so sweet and romantic but also perfectly in-character.

Especially your Hyde voice. Probably one of the best I've read. I especially liked this part: "Now Hyde loved her. And Jackie *knew* Hyde loved her, and for some reason Hyde didn't mind. He even knew Jackie loved him back, so put together the two of them had this whole mutual love-thing going on, which was exactly what Hyde normally put the greatest amount of not-zen into staying away from but just this once he sort of liked where he was."

It's just so Hyde to try and make not as big a deal of things as they are. It just like is, and he tries not to overthink it or make too much of it almost as if if he makes too much of it it will go away.

Like I was watching Season 5 Episode 3 and Hyde just like casually tells Eric that he's decided to tell Kelso about him and Jackie because he figures they'll be together for awhile...that's like a big deal for him to admit to even that slightest bit of commitment or possibility of a future but he tries to mention it casually like it's no big thing.

Anyways, I love the intimacy in their relationship and the way they've settled into this nice 'give and take' where Jackie knows when not to push him and Hyde knows when to give her what she wants.

I love the image of her in his Zeppelin t-shirt, wearing it for him. He talked about how she has his name to like mark him or make him as his own and how it's a big thing and gives him an odd feeling in his chest but I see her wearing the Zeppelin shirt as somewhat equivalent to that.

I like how he clarified that he didn't think Brooke was hotter than her, 'cause despite her air of self-confidence she did need to hear it. And that she was honest to him when she realized she did think of him as hot too, because even though things like that might not really matter to Hyde it's just nice to know that the hot woman you love thinks of you in the same way.

And how both of them just basically said that even though there are hotter people in the world, they can't care because those people aren't either of them...awww...I love it. They so have the "mutual love thing going on" as Hyde thought. hee.

This is just really nice and fits in perfectly with canon. I'm just going to keep this fic as canon in my head, 'cause I recently rewatched the Acid Queen episode so it really does fit in perfectly.

I have the biggest smile on my face after reading this fic - it is truly wonderful.

I love how you really get into Hyde's head, and show us the inner conflict over what he feels and what he thinks he should feel. Brilliant dialogue - really fun and cute - it feels as if its taken right from the show.

this is one of the cutest j/h fics i have ever read. it's so adorable to *see* hyde all in denial about all of his feelings for jackie. i think this would make a really good series, just taking random things like the brooke thing from the show and expanding on them. i really like the way you write hyde. great job!
