Very interesting story! I like where it's going so far, and this take on the Atlanteans is definitely unique.

About all I can say in the way of critique is that seems to have eaten chapter five's formatting, which isn't your fault, of course. _

Comments:

First off, I -love- you're introduction. The words flow and set the overall air of the situation. After taking in "the stench of rotting flesh" and associating the phrase with beached fish nearly makes a lip curl in disgust, especially if the reader is unfortunately very familar with the scent. You're images of confusion and chaos seem to work well (at least for me, couldn't speak for other readers) Also, I didn't glance at a paragraph thinking something along the lines of: "I hope this paragraph ain't part of the plot, 'cause it don't make no sense."

Critics:

Stay alive an' a writin' or yer gravestone won't be pretty (you would like to be burned? well yer ashes are gonna be on my mantle). *wink* hehe, just kiddin'

Not bad, not bad at all... I like your style, and the backstory behind the oceanographer keeps me coming back for more. Good plot hook. I also like how you refer to the boat as a 'whale'... I should've done that... P

Critiques? Uh... none at the moment. Except that you need to write the next chapter so I can figure out what's going on out in the ocean. ;)
