Well, that was only to be expected. The magical newspaper in Briton would never allow either to have another peaceful moment in their lives. They'd've wanted to know every little detail of their lives including their sex life! So, of course, they left Briton for an island that couldn't be found by anyone unless invited. Wonderful story. Now the Death Eater's package I can see taking no chances with But Percy's, that could've been placed in a shield charm bubble about a thousand yards out to sea and then unwrapped before opening. A thousand yards out and the blast wouldn't've hurt anyone unless it was a hell of a lot more powerful than I'd expect. However, with expansion charms on the inside of the box, he could've put a hell of a lot of explosive whatever in it. So most likely it was better to be safe than sorry. But you have to consider that Percy might not have known the man was a DE. Just because he's ambitious doesn't mean he's also a new DE. The DE could've just been using him to get close enough to Harry so the gift could kill him as well as anyone or group with Harry at the time.

I am reading all your stories from the oldest on. They are all very good. I find that your use of 'darling' is irritating as it has not really been in use by loving couples since the 1980's and it sounds so false in writing. The only people that use it now are the brainless fluff-heads that greet their friends with "OH, DAHLING, nice to see you again" or some such, with air kisses about a foot from their friends cheek. It would also be better if you reduced the 'TWEE' factor. Keep writing the stories are still very good.

Has anyone ever checked Ron out for a tapeworm? Also, I thought it hilarious when you gave Ron 'Great Expectations.' Very poetic irony. Also it was interesting to see a guy give a gal a broom and not get whacked for it. (I'm not sexist, but I did find it funny.) Nice work here!

I find nothing wrong with them leaving Hogwarts. The Board of Governers for the school accepted a bribe to let reporters into the school to bother them after they'd just recovered. That was unforgivable. I rather expected Voldemort to blame everything on Harry.I'm also no at all surprised that he had a lot of trouble replacing lost followers. Whe you see in the paper that voldemorts followers not only failed again but were defeated by fifteen and sixteen year old school kids, you don't jump right up and join.
