Well, this fic is dead, unfortunately, but on the off-chance that you someday return to this or pass it off to another author: decent premise, interesting take. Writing is average but mechanically sound, although there are a couple of sharp negatives: the clowns are an unfunny, disappointing distraction; and you really, really need to remove the instances of talking to yourself within the text. Those especially are damaging to immersion and suspension of disbelief, and have no place in any sort of writing. The only other major concern was that as i read, i kept losing the thread of what started the plot. Or more to the point, the real driver comes out of left field at the end of Chapter 4 with what is actually a pretty good set up, but it should have been in the prologue. Where it's currently located, it leaves the reader feeling as though they have missed something, which in my own case caused an immediate review of the preceeding chapters trying to find what i'd missed, disrupting my enjoyment of your story. That said, the story has a lot of good points: Nabiki's characterisation is especially good, but the changes to the cast are mostly interesting and different, which the exception of the Flanderization of Akane, but that's a common problem with her character and doesn't especially detract from the story yet. Kaede is an interesting addition, Kar is significantly less so, although toning her down just a hair and changing her name to something that make sense would probably take care of that. I really do quite enjoy the story though, Nabiki is my favorite character after all.

This is a fantastic story. I like the nods to cannon, even as you toss it gleefully off the rails. The growth of Soun, Ranma, Shampoo, and even Genma to a tiny degree are excellent, and better yet, believable. Your note said 2012, here it is almost 2016, but I'm still hoping you finish this, or at least post another chapter. Too many great stories here, get abandoned and forgotten. Looking forward to the next installment.

Boring OC's and the canon characters are all sane, reasonable people. Ranma as real life. What's the point?

Heh, well I'd say it's well past 2012 so you're probably not writing anymore. But I'd still like to say that I've thoroughly enjoyed this story, there are depressingly few RanmaxNabiki stories out there and this by far one of the better ones I've come across.

Nabiki is shown quite well as a girl trying to break out of the armor she's surrounded herself with, and I find the fact that while she would like to be more to Ranma that she is still happy to just be his friend is appealing.

... And Akane has seriously hit Bitch Mode, dang is she spiteful. The only negative I can think for this so far is that the part about Kasumi being a genius in the Art seems to have come completely out of left field. But all considered that's a pretty small complaint.

Why would I read a fic with a crappy summary that tells me nothing about the fic?

It's 2012! More chapters?

Ok, here's hoping that this review finds you well, and still writing this story...I am hoping that it isn't dead, because I enjoyed reading it the first time, and I enjoyed reading it again! If it is simply on life support for the time being, due to writer's block, I hope you are able to continue it soon! or rather continue it when you have the time and inclination! If this fic is dead, if possible, could you please let me know so I can remove it from my list of saved fics on my computer? I am hoping tho that you will be able to continue it so I can find out how you resolve Ukyo and Ranma, and bring Nabiki together with Ranma! as well as all the other issues that have cropped up within the fic! TTFN
