Underthenorthernlights chapter 1 . 12/20/2014
This was a nice read. I loved reading Sandors POV. I am a huge fan of book based fanfiction and Sandor Clegane is my favourite character. You wrote his thoughts great and I loved the details from the book as well! Thankyou!
Maxamillion369 chapter 1 . 8/8/2014
I just wrote my first fan fic which happens to be based on The Hound, so I was searching around for some other Hound fic.
This is wonderful! I really love how you pulled so much from a rather small part of the book-I think you made a great analysis of him and his fear of death!
Toola chapter 1 . 5/17/2012
Loved it...loved it...loved it. A fitting accompaniment.
Stained by Blood and Fire chapter 1 . 8/25/2011
This makes me want to tear my hair out in the best of ways. Thank you.
MTGAP chapter 1 . 8/28/2008
Your story is very good. 5 stars. The consistency with the original, as well as the thoughts of a non-POV character, reminds me of Ender's Shadow.

A couple times, you used phrases that seemed out of flavor. You said "crazy drunk" and "complete and utter", both of which seem out of flavor, particularly the first one. Beyond that, this was very well written.
etrangere chapter 1 . 11/15/2007
Ouch! Brillant!
DarkTwin7 chapter 1 . 1/15/2007
Well done! I really enjoyed the read. It was fascinating to read that part of the story from Sandor's POV. The journey of Arya and Sandor through the Riverlands is one of the storylines in ASOIAF that I like best, because it is so tense - their relationship is so complex you can cut the tension with a knife, and then again they do bond in a very strange and somehow very touching way, too. You captured both aspects of their relationship very well. I also find the POV convincing, which is quite an achievement with a character as dark and twisted and complex as Sandor. There is very little ASOIAF fanfic out there anyway and even less of it well written, I'm really glad I found a recommendation for this piece. Thanks for sharing! And since AFFC gives us reasons to hope that Sandor may not be dead after all - may he inspire you to write more like this!
lawl89 chapter 1 . 8/22/2005
It was okay.

Well characterized, but your action scenes/sections were slightly confusing and not as well-written as the rest of it. (shrugs)

Just my opinion.
snackfiend 101 chapter 1 . 10/27/2004
Ouch. That hurts. But it is so completely *right* for the Hound. Whew. I needed some good reading. Just finished beta-ing for a friend and *shudder* I needed that. Beautiful and heart-breaking. Thank you!
sammie teufel chapter 1 . 9/29/2004

Challi chapter 1 . 2/15/2004
Oh, my.
I am positively floored by the brilliance of your story. You have the Hound down to a T. It is perfect. Every sentence I could envision GRRM penning himself. Really and truely fantastic, *please* keep up the amazing work.
A chapter 1 . 12/12/2003
This one feels kind of like it's completing "Tally sticks" to me, shows more of the same themes. It has the same ring of truth to it. You make me believe that this was exactly what he was thinking in those moments. Sad (which is really an understatement), nearly heart-breaking. Those lines about him reaching out for the memory of the song to comfort himself with are truly painful for me to read, maybe because I know that feeling all to well, and those are exactly the right words for it.
