This is stunning. I'm aching, really aching, because I'd truly read a thousand chapters of your beautiful, poetic, evocative writing, of this soft hurt and deep friendship and the cracks and pain of love put through horror. Thank you so so much.

i read this a million years ago and never found it again. but I want you to know that it stuck in my mind all that time. every once in a while I would stop and think about that great little one-shot about the home invasion. guess that says a lot about the brilliant structure and impact of this story.
