ElvishKiwis Venerated Ancestor chapter 1 . 5/8/2012 A very sweet little story. We just recently went to visit the movie set of Hobbiton which they have rebuilt for the new films being worked on presently. I have a lovely picture of Sam and Rosies house, and a shot of me coming around the corner into Cotton Lane. I can imagine Elanor gazing toward the rolling hills, which surround the Hobbiton set, from some further distant location also filled with hobbit holes -but perhaps in a different style. It is harder to imagine Samwise, elderly and mature in his grief. Even when he was discouraged in the LOTR he looked more like a young child than a man. I was drawn to check you profile when I saw the wedding photo as your profile pic. Congratulations and may God continue to bless you and your husband as he works in your lives making you both "conformed to the likeness of his son" -Rom 8:29 You look Gorgeous BTW! I am so glad you are still writing. I still think Fawn is the best Fairy Godmother I have ever read. Regards EVA |
BakerStreetIsLastRefugeOfHope chapter 1 . 2/29/2012 A great story. Very well written. |
zoe alice chapter 1 . 9/26/2011 Beautiful last words. |
Daniel chapter 1 . 2/9/2008 I like this one too. One of the things that bothered me the most about the lotr movies was that Sam was really cut out of it in many ways(the mirror of Galadriel and the scouring of the shire...what the!). This is very Tolkien, full of heart. |
Mizamour chapter 1 . 1/1/2007 So sweet... and again, beautiful. I love your work! |
Bagge chapter 1 . 3/29/2006 Cute and serious in the same time, in a very unique hobbit way. Wonderful shire-story, and interesting to see where the red book went. |
Tar Irene chapter 1 . 1/21/2005 Perfect. Very touching. I love it.. Sam is every bit Sam and I love Elanor here. It's wonderful, exactly what Sam would do near the end of his life. The ending is just perfect, too.. I love it. |
Britt Davis chapter 1 . 7/22/2004 aw...that's really sad and really sweet. I love Sam, he's so great. There are too few good stories about Sam. This one was very sad, and very nice. I just wonder about the part where Elanor says that she understands that Sam has to leave because of the Ring. It just doesn't seem to me that that's something many hobbits would understand. It's still believable though. anyway...very nice job here! |
UniCornVampire3z chapter 1 . 7/18/2004 Ohh, so sad *sniff sniff* ery well writting, i think its wonderful that she found the spring of elanor. poor sam tho... wonderful! |
Rhade's Rose chapter 1 . 12/31/2003 Very well written. I've often wondered what it would've been like for Sam to lose Rosie and go off to the Undying Lands, and you've captured the moment between Sam and Elanor so well. *Applause starts from somewhere in room* *Glares at imaginary people and tells them to stop 'till I'm done with this review* *Applause stops* Anyway...write more fics like this! ~Pearl Brandybuck |
The Lady Arianrod chapter 1 . 11/30/2003 That was so sad... as well as very in character and very touching... it explores Sam's character very well, especially in the times when he'd have the deepest sadness and sorrow (like at Rosie's death...). Truly a great job! -The Lady Arianrod |
Celebrindal chapter 1 . 11/18/2003 Aw. . . (eyes go big and bleary) That's really good! (tries not to cry) I especially like that end part, where she finds the elanor. I hafta go find a tissue before these tears come! |
Camellia Gamgee-Took chapter 1 . 11/18/2003 That was beautifully sweet and very sad! Lovely work - I like your style! And I especially liked the idea of the dried Elanor - wonderful! :-) |
