Reviews for Tempest

Thanks for this wonderful story. I'd never really considered how hard it must have been for Elrond to leave all his children behind on Middle Earth with the knowledge they will grow old and die. That must have been so hard to bear. But I'm glad he is at peace now in the Undying Lands.
quarterhorseranch chapter 1 . 6/17/2016
I love this!

"Why, Elrond Peredhil, how else do you think I compelled it to grow so long?"

PPPPPPPPHHHHHHBBBT. XD That is Gandalf right thar.

That's so beautiful at the end. Well all of it is, really!
Agena K chapter 1 . 4/15/2010
More Mellon- Nin? please don't end it there. there must be more.

I love the way Mithrandir cares for Elrond. One forgets that the Maia are so much older than the elves. I would love to see Elrond and Mithrandir as well as the other passengers in the blessed realm, but then a chapter on the return of Elrond's children(and Grand children...) to him and Celebrian I don't know just an idea.
Emily chapter 1 . 12/10/2009
Yeh, despair!Elrond is among the most wonderful fic genres out there. : )

This was very sad. Poor Elrond. You did a very good job describing the poor Peredhil's plight. There is, however, one thing I wish to comment on: you made it seem as if Elladan and Elrohir had also chosen to stay in Middle Earth, and die a mortal death. However, this is not true. They joined their father and mother in Valinor after Arwen and Aragorn died. While Elrond wasn't aware whether or not this would occur, he seems despairing that he will ever see his sons again, as well as Arwen, and in actuality, there was a good chance that both twins would go to Valinor soon enough.

Just a point of clarification; I also read some things that seemed in perfect keeping with canon, so maybe it's all in my own mind. You can never take me too seriously, after all...
Killingmemory chapter 1 . 5/13/2009

I loved it.

I also wrote to stories about Elrond's grief for his children but this one was excellent.

I also love Elrond.

Mother of Ducklings chapter 1 . 10/3/2006
Oi...I can't begin to say how moving this piece was. What before we could only infer about Elrond's character is now in words. It's wonderful. Probably the most canonical piece of fan-work out there.

Infinite "thank-you"s for this amazing fic!
katharine chapter 1 . 6/16/2005
Dignified, beautiful, and indicative of a deep understanding of Tolkien. thank you for writing it, and for the pleasure I had, reading.
Tasari chapter 1 . 10/17/2004
Tasari breathes a soft, "Oh" into the stillness following Lord Peredhil's sorrow and joy.

"Oh, this is why I love the Elves. This is why." She smiles in happiness at the Author. "And this story is part of the reason I still read fanfiction. Thank you. A thousand times thank you."
Phoenix Flight chapter 1 . 11/24/2003
Thank you for being true to his character. I personally think that Lord Elrond was one of the casualties of Peter Jackson, along with Faramir.

It is beautiful!
kingmaker chapter 1 . 11/16/2003
Once again I am highly impressed by your skills with language. The tone here is perfect. One can truly imagine Elrond going through this difficulty and Mithrandir comforting him- the characters are nicely in-character.

Good luck to your muses- I hope they soon wake up and find that they are strong.

Cheers,

the kingmaker
Erestor chapter 1 . 11/15/2003
Saying this story was touching would be a major understatement. It was wonderful: beautiful language, very in canon, and extremely moving. I liked it a lot.
