I see your point. But make no mistake Freddy is exactly where he wants to be. I'll post more and you'll see what I mean. His angst is about having to live in a world where he never belonged, expected to do things that were against his nature. He didn't understand who and what he was until after he died. He didn't find his "home" until then. (My POV of course)

As to freewill: It's an illusion anyway:)
