Reviews for The 45 Colt War
Reader in the Corner chapter 6 . 12/7/2008
I can't pretend to have any idea what's going on inside or outside of Duo's head in this story. The narration, though, the endless sarcastic metaphors for the state of Duo's emotions and sanity and the constant suspense make the confusion worth slogging through. Despite the complete insanity, total confusion and occasional poor word choice, I've enjoyed readings so far and intend to continue.

KatsyKat chapter 7 . 5/22/2007
This was a great story. I loved the depth of Duo's emotions and how the writing became disjointed - yet connected - as you followed his train of thoughts. One word of critisim - your detailed descriptions, although wonderful, can be a bit too much. When you have more adjectives, adverbs, & metaphors in a sentance than nouns and verbs it begins to read more like a really wordy poem. I found myself sometimes lost in your descriptions trying to find what was actually happening. Although when I did - I was always pleased. You have a great flair for writing and I hope you continue!
Kriss Abeyance chapter 7 . 1/12/2007
I hate this writing style. it kills. and its three in the morning. I love the story but I really hate this writing style.
berettaboy chapter 7 . 12/15/2006
Heh, after thanking everyone for your support you should have tagged on the line 'I shall always wear it.' I got that one from an old Goon Show episode. A rather brilliant British radio show starrting Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan, and Harry Secome. Verry funny. Also, a word on firepower, depending on where he's hit, if you shoot anybody at close range with a .45, and I'm guessing you mean the 1911, Duo's legs would literally be no more. They'd have to be amputated. In fact, everything right down to maybe a .22 would go right through, and that's a big maybe for that .22. Sorry, I can't help nit picking because I know a thing or two about firearms. It always pisses me off when in films a single action pistol is fired as a double action would, and also have something like 20 shots coming from a weapon which has 7, maybe 8 rounds in it. Which Colt were you featuring in this one? A Series 70? Series 80? WWI replica? Also, where the hell does Solo come from? I've read Episode Zero, which covers the Maxwell Church fire/massacre, but I've no clue where Solo comes from. Which book is it? Anyway, thanks for writing in the first place. Cheers, your gun obsessed fan. Don't even get me started on the many other 1911s on the market. My absolute favourite pistol. *runs off to play with guns whilile grinning maniacally* Bye.

Amazing. Simply amazing. You are one freaking talented writer! I'm quite jealous. _-
Platypan chapter 7 . 2/28/2006
That was so damn good! Sort of...draining...I'll go off and update my goofy fairytale now...but so good! It's not how I see Duo- I like him a physical fighter too, not spazzing, no crying, and so on. That said, you completely convinced me. He had no reactions I didn't think were absolutely- not even understandable, more like it would be inexplicable if he HADN'T had that reaction. I loved Heero (again not the way I picture him in serious fic, but again you convinced me) I want a SEQUEL to this. (...is there one? Am I gonna feel real dumb when I trot back to the main page? ;;) Well, maybe not a sequel. It's pretty finished. Maybe an epilogue.

Haha, anyway, thought I'd toss some more praise from the direction of the Bovine Brain.
Ms Trick chapter 7 . 1/20/2006
Gods, what a ride. Oh you killed me and put me back together. You're a poet. And something. Kick ass write! Haven't really read anything this heavy in a while and I'm glad I found this.

hate to burst your bubble,

but Shinigami is; the god of death, death or devil.
Memeal chapter 8 . 12/2/2004
Long past a year later... but they can always take another review, can't they?

It's bedtime, six more minutes and I should be fast asleep or I'll never make it to my morning conference, all the babes are asleep almost, except me. Another wonderful one. It's sure nice to see how one year has honed your craft. It's always nice to see how someone's ability and writing voice begins to quietly shift into something more focussed and powerful. And it's nice to see how things just haven't changed all that much. Kind of like a personality to a writing (of course - ha!) constant and sure.

:) And it was neat. Very cute. Wrong word, but sleep is here. So they'll simply have to do and if needed, the decoding ring and glasses that read between the lines can be found in the adjoining envelope.
Memeal chapter 5 . 12/2/2004
[groan] and then this.

Well, can't say I didn't expect it, just not so powerfully done, of course.

Darn. That's one tear jerker and a half.
Memeal chapter 1 . 12/2/2004
Poor thing. I know for a fact that, like a lemmon driven by madness to the ocean, a soldier as rigidly structured as him finds little recreation activities to be worth the effort they demand and is often plagued with bouts of intense boredom. A toy monkey with stolen cymbals.

Heh. Like that. Hrm.. and it's full of things like that. :) Oh yes, happy reader. Very happy reader.
ShayL chapter 8 . 11/19/2004
I must say, this was a wonderfully-written piece. Very touching indeed... I mean, I was crying at the end of Part 5 (about Solo and Duo's past, and how Solo died). You, my friend, are an excellent writer, and I do hope that I will find more of your works in the near future. Mind you, I am reading your other (EXCELLENT!) fics too. _ Ciao!
Onions Make Me Cry chapter 1 . 11/7/2004
o_o I love your writing. I was actually browzing kind of hopelessly, not expecting to find anything of substance, but you quickly changed my mind! Keep up the excellently awesome work!
Diamroyal chapter 1 . 9/3/2004
Heh. Yeah, just..er.."surfing"? :: looks sheepish :: Ahem. Anyway...I came across this while looking for a story for a friend, and opened it out of curiosity for the name, (love it, by the by!) And read the first chapter...and the rest of them. Lol. I don't usually review, but hey, you know? So here's a review, about how much I really liked it. It was fairly brutal, but the characterizations seem so dead-on, for the darker aspects of Duo and Heero. The intricasies of the plot, and the emotions that Duo goes through...just, wonderful! Hee.
