AerynS chapter 1 . 12/13/2019 Wow! |
Ao yuki chapter 1 . 12/14/2010 Beautiful, beautiful piece of work. I signed in especially to tell you that. And I don't sign in just for anyone. (: Thank you for writing this. |
BajaB chapter 1 . 8/23/2006 Absolutely beautiful. Once again, extremely well done. Your characterisation and wordplay are fantastic, giving real depth and meaning to the story. Fantastic. I think, if I keep reading you fics, my favourites list is going to become rather one sided. |
Bagge chapter 1 . 7/4/2006 Beautiful piece. Old friends who have said everything that needs to be said a long time ago, and now simply find pleasure in each other's company, meet for a last goodbye. Two fine twists. The famous Flamells are muggles? Wonderfully fitting, and what an insult for Voldemort, to be outlived by muggles with centuries. And that little sip of cognac, with man's greatest dream. A fitting gift for Dumbledore, and one he never would ask for himself, but maybe accept as a gift. Well done. |
Possum132 chapter 1 . 2/9/2006 This is a lovely elaboration on the scrap of information JKR gives us about the Flamels. Muggles! I would never have guessed. |
Anguis chapter 1 . 9/19/2005 Lovely fic! The language is evocative and the topic fresh (at least in HP-fic). There are a couple of spots where you seem to sacrifice flow for explanation, but overall it's a great fic. The muggle twist at the end was unexpected and interesting. |
Califaction chapter 1 . 6/10/2005 Excellent! You've put a refreshingly original spin on things, and I love how you've portrayed the Flamels and their relationship with Albus. The ending was brilliant. I love your grammar, and the slightly old fashioned (shan't, for example) dialect you've given the Flamels and Albus. A marvelous read! |
Hoopdi chapter 1 . 8/21/2004 I love this story! I don't frequent the Harry Potter section of much (though I'm an HP fan), but I decided to take a good look around the place. So I poked, read and clicked several links until I came to this fic, and I have to say that I'm very glad I did. I love the intriguing twists and I never expected the Flamels to be depicted in that sort of way- as muggles no less! I think you've done an awesome job on the writing though I can't give one of those nice, intelligent or thought-provoking reviews, especially since the writing in this story is far superior than the one in mine. In short, this is awesomely excellent! |
Corie chapter 1 . 3/9/2004 Wow. So, I'm wondering how on earth your story could only get one review? Anyways, I thought this was really interesting. I've never really read any stories on the Flamels, and honestly, I don't think that many people bother writing about them. But you took the chance, and it's proved to be a good choice. Thanks for writing this, and great job. *claps* |
Gabriel4 chapter 1 . 3/9/2004 Oh, my! What a story! I really don't know what to say. This is an exquisite piece of work. I have never read a story about the Flamels, and I certainly never expected them to be Muggles. And then about the elixir of life! Enchanting from start to finish, and I loved the two twists. I am definitely going to have to read more of your work. I looked up your name after you responded to the review I left for Tempest Grey. I found this interesting since I could see no possible connection between any of us except for the fact that you simply must have read what I wrote about her story. You are quite right; most of the authors on are young, and yes, they are trying to write the most sensational stuff possible in an attempt to get people to read and review. I do think it's wonderful that they have a place to post their work and get feedback, especially as so many young people don't develop writing talents at all, but at the same time it's a terrible shame that this story could have been overlooked in favor of others. Sometimes if you have very good luck, the posting shows up among the first twenty-five and people see it. I think this is the only reason I got more than one or two reviews for my one-shot story. So you're reading "Guardians"? Now I'm nervous. It's very easy to get reviews from the "OMG U R SUCH A GR8 AUTHOR" set, and I do appreciate them (it's nice to have people tell you they like your work, no matter how they say it), but when I get intelligent, thoughtful reviews it's both a treat and a challenge. When someone whose work is superior to mine is reading my story... well, the bar gets raised, and your writing is very well-tuned. "Guardians" has many imperfections, especially as I have been writing it in installments. If I'd written the whole thing before posting any of it that might be a little different, but it's been kind of fun to do it this way, though I did have the major plot points all laid out from the beginning. Now I see that there are things I've left dangling, and I look back at some of the early chapters and shake my head a bit; I started this almost two years ago. I have certainly changed since then. Well, I am rambling. Once again, this was a beautiful story, certainly of publishable quality. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your works! |
