Perhaps I shouldn't review a story I've barely started reading, but I'm going to be honest: I got as far as Buffy being exaggeratedly dismissive and rude to Xander (and Kendra) in a Xander-centric shipping fic, mentally filed this as "Yet another resentful male Buffy-bashing/male power fantasy fic", and pretty much lost interest. Unfair, perhaps, but I've seen this pattern before, and skimming the rest of the first chapter only validated my conclusion.

Newsflash to the Xander fandom: Buffy did not owe Xander her love or sex because he saved her life, and she is not at fault for still loving someone else afterwards.

Skimming the rest of the first chapter, we've got:

-Buffy is suddenly portrayed as a defender for the (exaggerated) nastiness of the Watcher's Council so that Xander can be a Big Tough Man and save the damsel. Who then will of course fall in love with him.

-Xander constantly abusing Buffy over her love of Angel (which is admittedly in-character) and this obviously coming off as a position you want the reader to agree with.

That you managed to jump to "Faith was regularly beaten/raped as a kid" by the end of the first chapter pretty much solidified my disgust, and my decision not to read further. The tendency to play up child abuse for angst, hurt/comfort creepiness, revenge fantasies, or whatever, across various fandoms, always pisses me off. Very few writers can, or even attempt to, handle the subject with the sensitivity it deserves, in my opinion.

Its a shame, because your grammar is better than average for fanfic, and the world could really use more Kendra lives fanfics.

wow I absolutely loved it, there are no words to describe how absolutely amazing this story is. Really well done.

first I to say that I love most of your stories esp where Xander/Faith are together but this one just doesn't work now if you had john and Ken together I can see it much better. I also glad to see stories where both Buffy/Angle are treated like they should be until they grow up both are not talking or having taken on the problems of their actions or in actions caused,

This fic had so much potential, I was thinking 'Oh, what a shame it got abandoned!' Until we got to these last few chapters and all the creativity died, while you handed us canon rehash after canon rehash, seemingly ignoring the changes you've made before this.

The new and improved Xander vanishes whenever you need the slayers to do the same as canon, 1 or 2 of the THREE slayers also vanish when needed so canon can play out, you make Jono, a brainiac and magic user in the show, into canon Xander-lite so you don't need to be creative there...

Fuck just rehash canon for us why don't you? Just copy the script of the show in here, replace all the Xander's with Jonathon's and you're set! Lame. Seriously lame way to improve Jono. He's got a lot of brains, he ought to be improved by contributing with technology or magic or both, like a non-ass kissing willow.

why do people so often blame angel for angelus crimes buffy can be blamed to a certain degree but the only crime angel can be blamed for is sleeping with buffy while shes underage i agree angel is a prick but hes not angelus and he has absolutely zero responsibility for what angelus do since nobody informed him that being happy would unleash angelus he is no more guilty of what angelus do than a mother to a mass murderer who died giving birth to him would be

The summary is interesting enough, that I'll search through my bookmarks for the link to your own site. That said, the lack of *some* kind of scene shift makes it an extremely confusing read here on - frankly it was enough for me, that I didn't even read the entire first chapter.

Given the size of this site; you might want to give your stories here a cursory check...

I absolutely loved this story!

You had all of the characters down, especially Cordelia. I loved Xander, it's about time someone realized his potential. He is so much more than doughnut-boy.

Loved the care Giles had for Faith and Kendra. The end turned my heart to mush.

Jonathan as white hat was really good. Even though Faith/Jonathan is the absolute LAST couple I would have considered, you made it work. He makes her feel loved, and that's really all you can ask for in a relationship.

As for Kendra/Xander, I think TPTB over at Buffy should have made that happen, instead of killing the poor girl off. There was so much potetial there from the door, but they just pushed it to the side.

Whew, a little long winded, but I just couldn't help myself. Had to gush ;)
