Wow... I like this. A lot. I love Reno, and I'm a sucker for any and all Reno fics, but this one was suberbly characterized. I loved Reno and his sarcasm, and I really liked the way you did Tifa as well. The symbolism of the bar and the door were perfect and achieved exactly the right effect. I really hope you continue this, but even if you don't it works great even as a stand alone piece. Really nicely written.

You're very in-tune with Tifa's emotions and Reno's charm (I respect that he didn't act like a complete skank), and you have a real flair for dialogue. Everything you write just flows so well! I don't... really know what else to say here...

"Shimmers of what could have been were all that filled the empty space." That sentence just stood out for me. So poignant...

The whole story is great. There isn't a lot of Tifa fics that have her restart anew all over again, which I like in this fic.

nicely done. great dialogue and sharp, to-the-point description. i also like how you portray reno-he's practical, opportunistic, knows how to adapt and does so with this cool calmness. he's not like the lecherous, heartless murderer that some pin him to be...wonder where that image of him came from. he's a murderer all right but not a Sephiroth-psycho. and there's no indication that he's a ladies' man in the game. then again, he wasn't developed much in the game. sorry, i'm rambling.

anyway, the transitions are quite smooth too. and tifa's breakdown...you handled that very well. i could feel her weariness, frustration, heartache...and you didn't overdo it at all. you said what needed to be said. it's a bit sudden how tifa just up and leaves though, but the feeling of leaving has been building up in her for a while, eh...and i also like how you show tifa's feelings for reno- she doesn't approve of him (because of sector seven and all that-i'm glad you didn't have them discuss that bluntly out in the open. tifa's not really confrontational and considering she has a past with him in this fic, i don't think she would straight up talk about the incident with him, not right away at least. ) but it's obvious enough that she still cares for him through her actions. interesting struggle there-what she really feels and what she thinks she's obligated to feel for him. finally, she acts on what she really feels, in her gut, by leaving... haha all right, i should shush up. i'm just stating obvious things...
