Arianwen chapter 17 . 3/6/2005 I loved it all. Please give me more infomation about that fanclub you mentioned in several o' your stories. You are a truly incredible author and after i have read several of your stories gamgeefest may well lose her position as top author of the world in my opinion. You rule! Thank you for writing Arianwen |

Tahnk you for writing this story as i could not survive without fanfiction such as yours Arianwen |
Samwise the Brave chapter 17 . 1/14/2005 *inhales deeply for one hour* AW. I am so sorry I haven't reviewed this! I havent been readinf ff for a very long while now, and the first fic I wanted to check was yours! And I'm glad I did! Oh no you really made me bawl you know? It's so sad, yet, it's sort of liberating. Poor Elanor. I think it was just great that he gave her the Red Book. I teared when Rosie was on her deathbed. I love you, you know that already...I just couldn't take it when it came to 'Someone stood waiting for him.' oh that just made my heart BURST. like you always do! Sorry, I don't feel like my review is very eloquent(haha) but I just don't think you need to know how good an author you are, I dont need to tell you how your writing style is gorgeous anymore because its just so obvious. ALl I need to say (or get out of my system rather) is that you are one of THE best authors on You write poetry AND for a first story, it's beautiful. I love you. If you take my meanin'. |
Henna Gamgee chapter 17 . 1/3/2005 *happy sigh* Oh, this was such a nice ending. Got me choked up, too. I feel proud because I said before you started this that you could write a truly wonderful and unique LOTR fic, and you have proven me right! :D |
shirebound chapter 17 . 12/22/2004 Michelle, what a marvelous ending to a marvelous story... a story that goes ever on and on. "Now she suddenly knew that her father had left for good. He would no longer have the chance to tell his story. She was the eldest Gamgee left. The only one to know." -sigh- I've enjoyed this immensely. :) |
no. 1 fan chapter 17 . 12/22/2004 Oh Yes I get your meanin! I dont know whether to laugh or cry. Both I think. Fantastic story throughout, the ending was wonderful, and even though i had guessed what was coming you still made me cry. Keep up the good work my friend your friend and your no 1 fan X |
MushrooomsPTook chapter 17 . 12/21/2004 Gosh, that's such a sweet ending. Really, I couldn't think of a better ending to any post-Lord of the Rings fan fiction. It actually made me sniffle a bit. Well done! |
G chapter 17 . 12/21/2004 -Tender scene where Elanor realizes that she is now responsible for keeping alive the stories of the Red Book -Clever reference to Bilbo's song/the knocks on the door -Insightful line about how Sam thought that the sea was a good place for thinking |
The other Michelle chapter 17 . 12/21/2004 Hi Michelle Frodo! That is such a beautiful story, do you know how inspiring you are? It's obvious just how much you love Lord of the rings, and all the characters, and you are so good at what you do. Keep going, I'm sure it's not only me who gets inspired by readin your stuff! |
Emmchen chapter 1 . 12/21/2004 I read the first chapter and wept. Wonderfully written. I think I have to take this piece by piece though...it was emotional! |
ShireElf chapter 17 . 12/21/2004 I think all I can say right now at this moment now is "perfection". Total perfection. Especially this last chapter. I'm sorry this isn't a longer review, but I feel that I can't say anything else that would make sense. I bow down to the greatness of writing skills and I have made a chocolate cake for you, since I greedily ate the last one, me being a simple ShireElf. I hope I can see more from you, O Great One. |
Anarane chapter 17 . 12/21/2004 ::sighs a great big sigh:: Aw... That was the sweetest thing! I loved the end! Brilliant absolutely brilliant. But I'm sad to see it end. Great job! :) |
cosmo-queen chapter 16 . 10/24/2004 Ah yes, this is the life. Spending Sunday afternoons eating tasty (but sadly, not too healthy) food, reading a good quality story. This chapter was sad though :( Poor Sam, being plagued by nightmares. I guess it all makes sense, though, if it's approaching time for him to leave Middle-Earth. Nevertheless, in this summary of memories, it was nice to see that Sam retained his thoughtfulness and loyalty, and his desire for a simple, uncomplicated life is something that I can really relate to. I also loved the gardening analogy you used for the "foul things [that] were finding their way into Frodo's soul". It's so true to Sam's character, and I can see how it would've helped him because at the beginning of the year, when I compared school to LOTR, I realised after Mordor (ie. exans) is a return back to the beautiful things in life, even if some things have forever changed. Yes, I do believe I have too much time on my hands! I also liked, at the beginning of the chapter, the image you constructed of Sam as a grandpa. In fact, it reminded me of Bilbo! And I do agree with Holfast, a study with books and papers would be a fascinating place to investigate. Finally, I found my line! Lol. You put it into very good use! Looking forward to the final chapter then. It's sad that this story will be over, but no doubt, you have some more great ideas up your sleeve! *cosmo-queen* |
cosmo-queen chapter 15 . 10/24/2004 On finally getting around to email you, I also realised that you'd probably written more chapters for this story. And indeed, I find two new chapters for me to read. Let me tell you, this one was simply divine. Another one of my favourites, for sure. The imagery you created was beautiful and very effective in taking my mind off to some carefree world. And once again, the chararcterisations and the relationships between the characters were superb, whether it be Rose and Sam or the hobbits when they were younger. Merry and Pippin's antics provided humour, while Sam's observations of Frodo's determination and then his acts of loyalty, bravery and thoughtfulness only made me love him more. Plus, I also loved the lines ""Truly grandpa? You can swim like the fish?"" and "it was the perfect disguise when you wanted to look like you were doing something productive, but were really doing nothing at all." Great work, I'm off to read what I'm sure will be an enjoyable Chapter 16 :) *cosmo-queen* |
