I had such a strange reaction to this story. I thought the plot was contrived and the progression of the characters' relationship moved too fast, but somehow I ended up adoring this story. Maybe it's because I'm such a sucker for hurt/comfort fics. Anyway, I found myself having thoughts about how various points of the story was good, but I could tweak it to be even better (which is such a horribly selfish perspective to have when reading other peoples' stories, I know). I guess what I'm saying is that there was something so special about this story, that I think it would be totally great if you decided to give this a edit/possible rewrite with your perspective having matured seven years. Y'know, if you ever get a hankering to start writing fanfiction again.

... good story but i have a few criticisms to offer. Firstly, i was intrigued by the fact that everyone - and i mean *EVERYONE* - kept crying all the time. i understand that most of the situations represented in this story were highly emotional but the excessive crying made it overdramatic at times and broke the illusion, i myself had to giggle when Heero went from *i will not talk to anyone so i dont get hurt and will not cry even though i am five years old and have such a profound understanding of the human nature to make such a resolve* to *I will cry if ANYTHING mildly upsetting happens*. And the change, although smooth, was too fast and too unbelievable.

Secondly, Relena's character. I myself am no fan of relena's in fact my fave stories include relena bashing but in this story relena's character is extremely one dimensional. She seems like the ultimate villianous, not caring about anyone and only thinking of herself. She also comes across as someone very resolute and extremely impulsive. Although these aspects were represented excellently, i had qualms with the fact that one slap from her father made her do a complete one eighty. She seventeen (?) and physical punishment from parents does not alter one's perception that easily at that age. If anything, she would have reacted more violently and been outraged at duo who refused to let her have her fiance as well as turned her father against her. She was refused Heero several times and used blackmail to get him... she would not give up that easily. If she DOES have to change, the most believable would be that she decides to still pursue Heero but without *evil* schemes involved. Another probable idea would be that since she was extremely impulsive, she would simply say "sour grapes" and move on. The idea that she cried, not because she was hit by her father or that she lost her fiance but because she was touched by the bond that Heero and Duo exhibited was somewhat beyond my understanding.

Another few pointers without the lecture T.T i have a habit of ranting.

1. Duo and Heero's relationship (while extremely cute and fluffy) moved too fast.

2. Duo had absolutely no problem with being gay. This was not even a thought! He was simple like 'so i'm gay, huh? that makes sense." even someone completely comfortable with their sexuality will actually spare a thought or two to the fact that they're attracted to their own gender.

3. HEERO had no qualms about his sexuality. for someone who is so insecure about everything, he'd worry about EVERYONE hating him now that he's gay! the guy didnt even talk to his caretaker of 12 yrs and he just decides "oh look i'm gay. peachy."

4. Heero exhibited a deep maturity at a very young age and he seem to "immaturize" as he aged. some of his thoughts are pretty... immature for lack of a better word. He just simply is stuck in one moment in time and refuses to acknowledge the fact that someone stuck with him for 12 years when he was being an asshole.

5. EVERYONE KEEPS CRYING. sorry that irked me when i was reading the story.

Now the good parts.

I LOVE this story. It had EVERYTHING. romance, angst, painful past ;) my fave. AND YES! RELENA BASHING WOH.

My advice to u? Keep writing. And please dont be offended by my ... umm rather long criticism... I loved the story in itself, thats y i read 34 chaps of it! All i am saying is there is room for improvement... yeah.

I thought it was inchanting and wonderful it took me right into the book i thoughtt it was great and i'm going to read way more.

LOVED it! it was SO good! and I just loved the entire plot! poor Heero, I couldn't help but just want to hug hum, he was just so sad and silent at first. and his parents did the same thing that Adrian from Boys Next Door's Vother did! T.T that's so anti-swanky! and Duo is graduating college at 18? Duo's a genious? ...hm, I guess that fits. but GR, I just wanted to KILL Relena (ok, I always want to kill her, but more than usual) when she forced Heero into Varrying her! you can't make someone who doesn't love you marry you! especially if that person's already in love! XO ::chops off Relena's head, stuffs it, and hangs it on wall:: ah, much better. ::blissful smile:: anyways, the story was extremely good. it was really fun to read and it was just a good plot. the writing was also really good and I looked forward to every next chapter. keep up the good work! XD

Amazing...I forgot how much I hate Relena. :) LOL No really, I loved it. I wish there could be more but, that's ok, I'll find another of your stories to read. Keep up with your writing, it's great.

this was incredible! i almost cried at parts! my god that was fantastic! is there going to be a sequal? or epiloge? plz do something like that! i can't tell you how great it was.
