Lily next please!

This amused me. :) If you ever decide to add more, I think the next one should be from Pikachu's POV, lamenting how he always seems to get forgotten in stories (sometimes all pokemon in general despite being pokemon fanfiction). And this isn't even exclusive to crapfics. I've read some pretty awesome stories that still, despite being awesome, forgot our favorite trainer's starter and best non-human friend (or, as I said, the existence of all pokemon entirely). Which is sad because I've seen Pikachu be quite humorous in the stories that remember him.

Character destruction, like that of which Misty and many others go through in various fandoms, can be a disgusting practice that just shows how spiteful and horrible the author can truly be when hiding behind anonymity. If a character is so truly getting in the way of the plot you wish to write there are many ways to ship a character off on a bus. Even one of the more 'controversial' Harry Potter fics, Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality, has Ron simply choose not to interact with the main character, essentially removing himself from the story without any injuries/death/changes to his character.

I looked through your favorites and you should read The Traveler. It's a very wonderful novelization of the Pokemon series/games that's already multiple books in length and still going.

I loved the first parts of this chapter, as things such as the Tahiti part (and the 'bloody pulp part', even though I found that a tad bit scary, and I seriously hope that the boy/girl with whom you travel the world will not get in a fight with you!

The 'hatred' as you describe it is not something I could really relate to, as I don't see Misty getting hurt excessively in comparison to the others in the fan-fictions I've read. In the anime series - the first season is the only one I have seen - she does seem to be the person that gets angry more than the others, either because of the bike or because of Brock hitting on another beautiful girl/woman, [more about that in the previous chapter].

I liked it, and I would like to advise Misty to go into therapy, it did wonders for me! ;)

What you put here is definitely something different from the most things I've read so far on this site - or anywhere really - giving some ideas for possible future fan-fictions. Complaining about stories written about the protagonist from an older (and, sorry but I have to say it, more bitter...) version of him (her) self is something to think about.

I agreed to most of the complaints you pointed out about romance. These complaints don't just concern the romance in pokemon, but in almost every low-quality romantic story (often in movies too). The exception to that is the age of Ash (and the other characters) and romance (even though you should not under-estimate the youth of nowadays, my nephew for example who is 11 years old proudly told me how he had 'really kissed' - read french kissed - a girl, and how little space there was between him and his during the dance on his school).

The sarcasm put a good smile on my face.

Hello i think this chapter voices all my opinions! to many weird smut storys and storys where ash and misty dive straight into sex. good job (my opinion anyway)

Mwa ha ha ha ha! OK, I'll be honest; I know next to nothing about Pokemon (I got to this fic through someone else's Favorite Stories list) and I STILL could appreciate it. Most of what you say holds true to any fanfic out there. I know a LOT Sisters Grimm writers who could benefit from reading this. (The Sisters Grimm is a book series and the fandom I usually occupy.) And I love your Author Notes, too! I'm proud of you for ENCOURAGING the flames!

Tell me which fic has Ash and his mom so I can flame that person. I agree with you though, some people just don't get how to type up fan fics. But I guess it depends on your taste.

I fully support everything you have said in this, and thus feel slightly ashamed of the fact that I am starting a "new trainer" fic. Ah well, I know where you're coming from with that; I've often said, you have to wade through tons of crap to find the gem in fanfiction. Hopefully (fingers crossed) I will be able to produce a 'new trainer' fic that actually (shock horror) incorporates the anime characters, without making said new trainer fall head over heels for one, and combines the game and anime universes smoothly. I'm killing myself for even thinking of trying!

All in all. So absolutely hilarious and so damn right. :)

THAT WAS AWESOME! OK, I'm not an Ash 'fan', but I've been getting so sick and tired of all those crappy fan fics. I hope someday mine will become really good and not crappy. Maybe I'll even try to send them to this site. And wow, I'm laughing so hard at this! XD
