Vanity's Darling chapter 1 . 6/13/2011
This story is fantastic and truly well written. I hope you'll write some more Cor/Aravis in the future, because you've done it well.
asdfjkl chapter 8 . 6/22/2009

XD what an amazing story. So well written. I was sad to see that King Lune died but I remember in the book he dies before Cor becomes King. Lasaraleen was there, and she met Aslan! That's so cool!

Lovely retelling from Shasta's POV(sorry, couldn't resist :) Short and sweet. :D

Wonderful story. I like how you told it in the first person from both Aravis' and Cor's points of view. This one will be in my faves list.

I think you have a good concept. Horse and His Boy is my favorite. However, remember that writing in the first person is VERY difficult. It ends up being "I do this and I do that, then my eyes hurt, then I do this and I do that, and I think this." I'm not trying to make fun of your story or anything, just show you what it is often like when people write in the first person. There's a reason that very, very few great pieces of literature are written in first person-it doesn't work. You can still get the same effect writing in third person- You can put thoughts into italics, so you can still have that effect. Here's one sentence from your story written in third person: "Shasta's eyes stung with sand and the salt water burned his calluses. The old man’s voice, dry and accompanied with a constant revolting gargle, rang in Shasta's ears." Just an example of what I'm saying. I do think it's a great idea, and I'm anxious to read more of Bree and Shasta. Keep up the writing!
JEZ838 chapter 8 . 5/21/2004
I loved this. I have read the horse and his boy a million times in the past 17 years and I love it but there was always something missing and you've hit it. Thank you and keep writing!
nikki chapter 8 . 5/5/2004
Of course, all of us who have read the Chronicles of Narina, espcially "The Horse and His Boy" are wondering how Cor and Aravis fell in love with each other. Lewis only said that they fought a lot and made up after each fight that when they were older they decided to get married, do it more conveniently. Not very romantic for many who are romantically inclined, and it is the stuff for many a fan fiction.
C.S. Lewis has his own ideas about love, it is worth checking out his ideas on his book "Four Loves". I will not expound on it, but I'm certain that he will cringe on a couple of the chapters.
On the whole it is a good story. Some of the stories are choppy and needs some editing to acheive unity and smooth continuity. While this is a fan fiction, it would be good to read the book again for reference, certain parts of the story rely on the book itself; this must be done to avoid some confusion for the reader.
Again it is on the whole a good story, the author is able to express his or her ideas and present it in a way that is entertaining.

HonorH chapter 8 . 4/4/2004
Really fascinating! At first, it bothered me that you weren't following the lines in the book exactly, but that didn't last long. It felt like you were translating the tale of Shasta and Bree and Aravis not from the official Chronicles, but from Cor's private papers. Of course there would be some differences. I like the characterizations you brought across-subtly different from Lewis, yet familiar. Thank you for giving me a new angle on a story I've read countless times.
Christin Picks the Banjo chapter 1 . 3/19/2004
Wow. Very sweet, very descriptive. I like how they've (Cor, Aravis) matured but still have certain aspects of their previous child-like personalities. Very great.
