O' Genki desu ka? - How are you? Domo Arigatou Gozaimasu - Thank you (full) can also say Arigatou or Arigatou Gozaimasu Doozo haittekudasai - Please come in BASIC NUMBERS 0. ZERO - zero (zeh - row) 1. ONE - ichi (E - Chee) 2. TWO - ni (knee) 3. THREE - san (saan) 4. FOUR - yon/shi (ywan / She)* 5. FIVE - go (go) 6. SIX - roku (row - ku) 7. SEVEN - nana/shichi (na - na / She - Che)** 8. EIGHT - hachi (HA - CHE) 9. NINE - kyuu (cue) 10. TEN - ju (ju) * The number 4 has two ways to say it. Yon is more common for counting. Tsuyoi - strong Oishii - delicious Abunai - dangerous Takai - high; expensive Hidoi - horrible, terrible Sugoi - amazing, extremely Umai - good (it means both 'delicious' or 'skilled') Kakko warui - uncool Dasai/dassai - uncool (more or less the same as above) Busaiku - uncool but also adds in an element of being ugly Kakko ii - cool, handsome Ikemen - a handsome guy Cho- - really, extremely Mukatsuku - mad, angry, pissed off Maji de - seriously Kimoi - nasty, sick Kishoi - kishoku warui (like 'kimoi' but worse) Mendoi - mendou kusai (troublesome) Muzui - muzukashii (difficult) Hazui - hazukashii (embarrassing) Tempatteru - to be in a flurry, kinda agitated Karipaku - to borrow something and not return it Kireru - to get angry, to go off, to go postal Gyaku gire - to go off on someone who goes gets angry at you Ecchi suru - to have sex Sebaru - this also means to have sex (this word is used by Tokyo girls a lot more) Abunai! - (It's) dangerous!/Watch out! Shortened Words Kishoi - kishoku warui (like 'kimoi' but worse) Mendoi - mendou kusai (troublesome) Muzui - muzukashii (difficult) Hazui - hazukashii (embarrassing) *used in a sentance: ...desu - It is, they are, I am ...ka - "Ka" turns a statement into a question ...san - Mr/Mrs/Miss/Ms (show of respect. Must put at the end of everyone elses name, but NEVER on your own The 'na' adjective These words are all pretty different but when you put it in a sentence, you just stick 'na' at the end to modify the word. If you don't add the 'na,' then it's like a noun. For the word 'kiken na,' it means 'dangerous.' Just plain 'kiken' would mean 'danger.' Rarely, some 'na' adjectives end in 'i' ie. genki na -happy, energetic, healthy ecchi na - perverted, kinky |
