Wow, I have not thought about that part of the story for a long time. The seemingly random details-where she was from, why they were traveling, where they were sitting, and why-add plausibility to the story and make it relate-able. Plus tackling philosophical issues makes this a good story.

Those thoughts came to me when I finished reading. I will surely find myself re-reading this fic. It's profound, really, b/c how often do we do things that effect others so hugely, and we don't even know it, or realize it till way later?

I like that she's not a fame-seeker, but she still got to hear of their appreciation, and that it changed her life for the better.

That was a great story. "The Sickness" was one of the first books I read in the series, and one of my favorites. I guess there were a lot of people who unwittingly helped the war effort with their small acts of kindness- just like a little kindness can go a long way in the real world. Nice job!
