I think you're correct that Jarod would take things poorly. The banter was nice, and I'm just going to toss out the fact that they would actually be third cousins (or second cousins once removed if you prefer).

You've got me doing mental acrobatics trying to picture Mr. Parker as a child.

Miss Parker and Jarod working on a puzzle together - somehow I'm thinking that they are not going to find all happy things.

What a great ending to a really great story Phenyx! It was nice to see how comfortable Jarod & Parker's relationship had become in this last chapter, especially for Parker to give her mother's studio to Jarod.

Wow, Phenyx, powerful ending. I'm startled to see that it is both a touch melancholy and yet hopeful. At least that is what it stirs in me. I think it is very cool that Jarod at last found his home with Parker, even if they do seem to have a rather untraditional relationship.

At least they have each other, and some measure of peace.

I very much enjoy you as an author - and it was a great surprise that you added "Refuge". It was perfect! J and MP have made peace and are happy in their relationship. She could have done nothing bigger or more perfect to lift his level of awareness of her absolute acceptance of him in the house other than to "give" him her mother's studio. What a great gift from the heart - he knows it and appreciates her the more for it. I am glad that their comfort level is so high - that their tolerance level of each other is so great. It is a bit amusing to me that after all the years searching for his mother (particularly) he now has chosen to ignore him in order to endure her presence and comments concerning himself and MP and himself giving a job to Emily. Well, he has acclimated into American culture! Hopefully they (MP and J) will continue to grow together. Thanks for a great story! You could further surprise me and decide to add more to this - that would be great. You are very creative! I await more (either of this or another!) Thanks!
