Fab really enjoyed this

It's been so long since I read a fic like this.
Serious but not angst, heart-warming but not sappy, a more mature arrogant and that silent-suble-caring-captain but who is definitely not cocky. And best of all, absolutely no trace of OOCness.
I especially liked the more human, realistic version of Voltaire. And the usage of Misaki drew me to this fic. I love fics where Kai's family is involved, be it simply a flashback or the main plot and am always on the hunt for such ones. Only to get shunned by the total
OOCness and sappiness or they are just too
unrealistic. Needless to say, this one is utterly satisfying.
Most stories with Kai's mother usually follow the same she and susumu were killed by Voltaire/Boris while protecting Kai. It's pretty nice but I don't think Voltaire can't be that cruel.
And by the end of the end of the fic, I sat there simply with a goofy smile on my face and tears in my eyes.

Do you know that this has left me in silent tears? I love the way you still maintained Kai's character and also convey that he did care. And your perception of Misaki was so perfect.

Besides, it's the first time I had seen anyone use Misaki in their fic. Many don't know much about her and make their own characters. I don't blame them though.

So, I just want to convey that I LOVED this fic.
