Really liked this one! The POV style was a nice touch. This had a very cute feel overall, and even the more mature parts lended a hand in cultivating that. Interesting approach to their relationship at the beginning of this story, but one that definitely makes sense. It's easy to imagine that had Sam not fled for LA, some awkward tension would've existed between these two after Carly left. The desire they had to be with each other once alone in the dark apartment was palpible throughout the remainder of story, even after they had already engaged with each other physically, so very well done with that. Glad I was finally able to catch up with what you've written recently. Hoping you still got some stories in the chamber to share!

Side note, I too checked out McCurdy's podcast. I'm practically just a big of a fan of her as I am the Sam character(even if she probably doesn't look back on Sam fondly). I was glad to see the podcast do so well in the first week, and much like Jennette herself, it was a fascinating listen.

Maybe this is weird to admit, but I definitely broke into a smile when I caught your reference. “I’ve got you, baby.” I love it. Something about that term of endearment between these two, no matter what age they are, is so sweet to me. But never more so than when they are not a couple. Because I feel like that’s the kind of thing they probably would call each other when no one else could hear it, and they’d never admit it to anyone.
And yes, still “a little saucy but still classy”. Slightly more sauce, but tastefully done.

This is shaping up very nicely! Definitely liking the way it's going. Also really like the switching between Sam and Freddie point of view. Some people try that technique and it doesn't quite work, but you're doing a great job so far. Can't wait for more!
