Reviews for Minecraft VS Reality: The End Has Come
GuestSuggest chapter 5 . 7/14
Have you considered using JUICE as a source block? If you collect enough of a drink you will have an infinite amount of it- Depending on minecraft physics spoiling wouldn't be a problem as well. Again, something to explore. Another option is that, given you have/can gain steel and used it in place of iron for a bucket, you may be able to substitute it for iron.
Luke Dragneel chapter 1 . 7/14
Since this is a Minecraft story based in reality, I was hoping you would pull from RLCraft rather than vanilla minecraft. With its more realistic features and more diverse enemies/creatures/items, it would make more sense in my opinion to use over standard Minecraft.
chainfedcannon chapter 1 . 7/14
Enjoyed this quite a lot, haven't read anything like it before. Awesome!
Twylyte chapter 5 . 7/14
Very neat story. It's interesting seeing how you carry across parts of minecraft physics while retaining an element of realism.

Also keen to see if specific mods will show up if it turns out some are active. I'd love to see something like Astral Sorcery played out, or Botania. Seems more likely to be a gregtech equivalent though. AE2 would also be cool. Thaumcraft would be terrifying.

I like the idea of making a city to protect survivors, though given the weather and the mob related issues it causes it might be a good idea to set up elsewhere eventually.

I do wonder if the meteor that hit the moon will come up again at some point. The shattered remnants floating in the dark makes me think of The End, and the scary idea of the Enger Dragon's egg being the meteor.

Looking forward to reading more,

Heh, ok, this story has grabbed my attention. I have just enough minecraft knowledge to know whats going on and appreciate the theorycrafting going on. I look forward to reading more chapters as they come out.

Interesting! It feels like they're getting too little done in an entire day, somehow? But it moves the time along, so there's that :D
karuma012 chapter 5 . 7/12
It's an interesting read, add to favorite!
dogbertcarroll chapter 5 . 7/11
For some reason I am picturing Julian as John Oliver from the Daily Show. I wonder if you can use the fact that Julian isn't a Minecraft character to collect certain materials from taking apart things where if the MC did it you would just get scrap.
dogbertcarroll chapter 4 . 7/11
Okay, not quite hell.
dogbertcarroll chapter 3 . 7/11
No other survivors and stuck in a world you can't actually die in... Yep, you are in Hell.
Nathnathn chapter 5 . 7/9
One thing ild do is stop by the city/townhall.
Potential to find things like
Utility maps.
Locations and detailed listings for material/equipment stored by the government.
also technically you could find things like factory’s or labs or warehouses and what they likely contain by what businesses owns them.

Military bases also would provide things like fuel stockpiles and vehicles as well as equipment like generators, floodlights, radio and radar equipment.
a radio room with a ham radio broadcast could also get you in contact with anyone holding onto a radio or portable CB radio. Aswell as picking up any broadcasts by other survivors with a safe house in range.

Ild wonder if the international space station is ok for now.
If so u could actually get into contact with them with a basic cb radio and the right timing.
If only to give them somewhere to go when their forced to return to earth for lack of supplies.

If their are any government/private satellite control facilities in the area you could also access any connected satisfaction. Communication/spy/mapping.
Any image of places at night would give you an idea of locations with possible survivors from seeing power/lights.

Also if their are any nuclear powerplants near by i would want to ensure it’s properly shutdown and if theirs a short term spent fuel storage facility put down a water source to avoid the water used for cooling boiling off. Or get as far away from it as possible. Or bury it in blocks.

For a tower one idea would to work out any exploit in the mixing of physics to create a adhoc elevator.

Im probably rambling a bit much so sry.
dogbertcarroll chapter 2 . 7/11
Huh. I wonder how long you were out. Had to have been a while since there are no people anywhere.
