I do have one complaint though, and that is not all of us can read German, so perhaps you should lay it off a bit?

Interesting. A few things you may have already thought of, but still may want to keep in mind:

First off, Germania is not Deutschland (something which the German soldiers may have difficulties realizing at first). There will be some significant cultural differences. From the German soldier's point of view, Germania is more likely to be comparable to an Imperial Germany whose Bismark was able to unite the country several centuries earlier than in their world (and Rommel is probably the only one among them old enough to actually remember much about life in Imperial Germany prior to the Great War). And while many people may speak Germanian, it won't be Deutsch. While it may be possible to communicate using the two languages, each would probably sound like an odd local dialect to the other (perhaps comparable to how northern Plattdeutsch would sound to a southern who is accustomed to Hochdeutsch).

I also noticed both Neuhaus and Holke occasionally mixed English terms of address ("sir", "miss") into their conversations, which seemed a bit odd. I'm guessing these are attempts on their part to address locals in their own language, although in that case I would think that they would be using French terms ("Monsieur", "Mademoiselle"), rather than English (fortunately the French terms are widely enough know to where I think you can trust your readers to be able to recognize them). Also, as a minor aside, I believe the general concurrences is that Tristain is probably more akin to modern-day Belgium than France, so while this shouldn't complicate the language issues too much it will most likely lead to yet another instance of "What strange dialect is this?".

On a purely technical note, I also noticed a couple of instances where you momentarily shifted from third person ("he") to first person ("I") mid sentence. These were rare, and nothing more than instances which slipped past as scenes were rewritten, but it is something to be aware of in the future.

I honestly think you should have the German lines in English so we can actually read the conversation.

Just going to clarify, I do not intend to make this some odd crackpot harem fanfiction... To whoever posted that odd comment regarding it. I intend to make this as serious as possible as one, I have respect for the characters that I pulled from an event that actually happened into this world on July 17th, 1944. Corporal Daniel himself was killed (well, he died in the night) due to a 20 mm cannon shell shattering his shoulder and such. Two, I take myself far too seriously and I cringe whenever I so much as even attempt to have a stupid and implausible thought for something that I wish to be absolutely serious.

Please tell me you're not going to ditch this story after a few chapters.

Lemme be frank. I' to see this continue. This is the sort of thing I haven't seen before, and with how you're writing, I have no doubts that the next chapter is going to keep me intrigued. Keep it up, my good sir. The fact that Germania and Germany shares a language makes me believe shenanigans are afoot, and I can't wait to see it.
